MLB Top 5 Fantasy Baseball Starting Pitchers for Wednesday July 24th

MLB

OHere are the MLB Top 5 Fantasy baseball starting pitchers for Wednesday to start on a fantasy baseball team. These pitchers are ranked in order by projected fantasy points using ESPN’s standard scoring system. These pitchers will also help with player props for betting and will provide information on which pitcher to bet against depending on team matchups.

MLB game odds are provided by ESPN BET and fantasy advice is leaned toward an ESPN 10-team leagues with standard scoring. Robbie Ray of the San Francisco Giants and LA Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow are set to return to action Wednesday.

RHP Luis Castillo of the Seattle Mariners is set to start against the Los Angeles Angels. Castillo is 5-4 at home but is 2-5 in his last 5 games. He has an ERA (home) 3.07 and 69 strikeouts (home). Castillo is projected to get 14.0 fantasy points.

RHP  Gerrit Cole of the New York Yankees is set to start against crosstown  rivals New York Mets. Cole has not pitched quite up to his potential, he should be far better than he has show. Going back to June 25th, the Mets hit 4 home runs off of him in four innings. On the upside, Cole is 4-1 in his last 5 games. In the last 7 games he’s 1.50 ERA and 8 strikeouts in the last 7 games. Cole is projected to get 13.4 fantasy points.

RHP Corbin Burnes of the Baltimore Orioles is set to play against the Miami Marlins. Burnes is 3-2 in his last five games. He has an ERA in the last 7 days 1.50 and 6 strikeouts in the last 7 days. Burnes is projected to get 13.0 fantasy points. His matchup against the Marlins is a good one for a pitcher of his caliber. Burnes can shut down the best teams, so he the lowly Miami Marlins shouldn’t be much of a match.

RHP Aaron Nola of the Philadelphia Philly’s is set to play against the Minnesota Twins. Nola is 3-2 in his last five games. 6-1 away , ERA (away) 3.67 and 50 strikeouts (away). Nola has been solid this season and he is projected to get 11.5 fantasy points.

LHP Justin Steele of the Chicago Cubs is set to play the Milwaukee Brewers. He is 3-2 in his last five games. He has struggled this season with a 3.07 ERA and he is tied overall 69th in strikeouts with 87. His projected fantasy points is 11.3.

Final Thoughts

These are the top five pitchers projected to get the highest points by ESPN 10-team leagues with a standard scoring system for Wednesday night baseball. Tanner Bibee and Tyler Gaslow are still in the top ten of pitchers for tomorrow. Depending on what pitcher will put you in a position to win the matchup, these starting pitchers can give points to boost a team in a ESPN 10-team standard league

ESPN scores 2 points per win, minus -2 points per loss, 3 per inning, 1 per K, -1 per hit or walk and lastly minus -2 per runs allowed. My advice is to look at the matchups between both teams. On who is pitching and who the team is playing against. Example the Orioles are playing against the Marlins. The Marlins have a struggling offense with an ERA of 4.52 which ranks 26th in the league.
