Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Week 8

Week seven of the NFL has come to an end and the theme for this NFL season has continued with the laundry list of injuries happening all around the league. San Fransisco’s wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk suffered a season-ending torn ACL injury, Tampa Bay’s wide receiver Chris Godwin is out for the season with a dislocated ankle and wide receiver Mike Evans is expected to miss three games with a hamstring injury. The list goes on around the league, this was certainly unexpected this season with all the injuries. This will make the wide receiver waiver wire hot this week for Week 8.

Keon Coleman, WR, (BUF), Coleman is a rookie wide receiver in Buffalo, he was drafted in the 2024 NFL draft in the 2nd round. He was the 33rd pick overall. Coleman had a breakout game last week against the Tennessee Titans. He caught four out of the 7 targets for 125 yards. Even with the Buffalo Bills acquiring Amari Cooper, Coleman had an impact on the offense. Coleman is 32% rostered in PPR leagues. He will be a good addition to the Bills heading into Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Ricky Pearsall, WR, (SF), Rookie Ricky Pearsall made his season debut with the 49ers this week against Kansas City Chiefs. He suffered a gunshot wound he sustained last August in a robbery attempt. He was drafted in the 2024 NFL draft in the first round and the 31st overall pick. He had three receptions for 21 yards, this isn’t much for a typical wide receiver in a game but now the 49ers’ list of injuries has grown. Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is now out for the season after sustaining a torn ACL. Look for Pearsall to be more involved in the offense, he will be the number two receiver going forward.

Tre Tucker, WR, (LV), Now that Davante Adams was traded to the New York Jets last week, the Las Vegas Raiders will be looking to Tre Tucker going forward. Tucker was targeted eight times and caught three of the targets for 36 yards. Tucker has flashed big-play ability since entering the league and should have fantasy appeal in this new-look Raiders offense. Tucker is 10% rostered in PPR leagues. The Raiders will look to get Tre more involved in the offense in week eight against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Final Thoughts

There are not many options for this week on the waivers for wide receiver pick-ups for all leagues across fantasy football. Some of these wide receivers may not be the best fit in all leagues so it is good to look and see what player will fit best in the league that is being played. The NFL is halfway done with the season heading into Week 8 and the injuries are piling up across the league. There are no teams on a bye week this upcoming week eight.
