Today is the last day of May and there will be a lot of MLB DFS action for your starts, sits, and stacks. This 15-game slate of baseball games will have a lot of action for fantasy players this Friday. June will be here tomorrow but May will end with MLB DFS action getting hot at the right time.
One featured game will be the New York Mets hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citi Field in the second game of their four-game series. Another good game for fantasy leagues this Friday night will be the Tampa Bay Rays going to Baltimore to face the Orioles. For the end of this long May, these games could be ones to keep an eye on to end the month of fantasy action.
June will be here and your MLB DFS week will end this month with a strong win for your Daily Fantasy pools today.
May 31st MLB DFS Starts
SS Francisco Lindor Arizona Diamondbacks at. New York Mets ($4,700 – DraftKings)
The Mets have been awful in May but could come back with Francisco Lindor hitting the ball well. Lindor in the win against the Diamondbacks went 4-4 with a home run and two RBIs. There is a chance that Lindor could finally get hot.
With the New York Mets in shambles, Lindor could lead them to another win as the leader of this team. Lindor could also help MLB DFS players win a game tonight.
1B Ryan Mountcastle, Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles ($4,800 – DraftKings)
Baltimore has been getting sluggish in May but is getting better as time goes by this season. One of the players that is helping the Orioles, is Ryan Mountcastle and his power bat. In the game against Boston, Mountcastle went 2-4 on Wednesday’s win for the Orioles.
Mountcastle has been doing well in the past month and could continue this momentum. MLB DFS players should start Mountcastle against this weak Rays pitching staff.
C Adley Rutschman, Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles (5,500 – DraftKings)
Another Baltimore bat that could do well against the Rays tonight is star catcher Adley Rutschman. Rutschman has been breaking out this season and could have a great game tonight.
In his last game, Rutschman went 1-4 in the win against the Red Sox on Wednesday. Rutschman is going against a weaker Rays pitching staff and could hit well for fantasy teams tonight.
May 31st MLB DFS Sits
SP Jordan Montgomery, Arizona Diamondbacks at. New York Mets ($7,800 – DraftKings)
The Arizona Diamondbacks are suffering a hangover after winning the National League pennant last season. This season, the Diamondbacks’ new signing Jordan Montgomery is struggling to stay in games. In his previous start, Montgomery went 6.0 innings and struck out four in a win against the Marlins.
The Mets are struggling but could hit well against Montgomery. Montgomery is a wildcard for fantasy players so he should sit for now.
3B Austin Riley, Oakland Athletics at. Atlanta Braves ($5,000 – DraftKings)
A player that has been struggling for the past week is Austin Riley for the Atlanta Braves. Riley has been floundering in his last game going 0-4 against the Nationals. Atlanta’s star third baseman has been sluggish this season batting around .227.
Even if it’s against the A’s, Riley’s struggles could continue tonight for the Braves. I would have Riley sit for now until he gets hot again soon.
OF Joc Pederson, Arizona Diamondbacks at New York Mets ($4,300 – DraftKings)
While Joc is a hot and cold player, right now he should be on a MLB DFS bench. The power bat for the Diamondbacks did not have a good game last night with a 0-2 game.
While Joc has strong numbers, they weren’t there last night. Right now Joc could be on the bench for MLB DFS players due to facing a decent pitching in Luis Severino.
May 31st MLB DFS Best Stack
For this Friday’s stack of the day, the Baltimore Orioles trio of Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, and Jordan Westburg is my stack. Gunnar Henderson in his last game hit a grand slam against the Red Sox and could carry a MLB DFS team tonight. Against the Rays pitching staff, Henderson could easily handle the Rays tonight.
Another player in the stack that could easily take care of business is Adley Rutschman who has been hitting the ball well. Rutschman has been getting hot lately and could earn you some fantasy points tonight.
The last player in this stack is Jordan Westburg who is becoming the O’s top hitter this season. Westburg has been doing a great job hitting and could do great things tonight. While the O’s have been middling, they could win with a great Westburg game.
Baltimore’s young core could be a great stack for an MLB DFS win to end the month of May.
