Every week in DFS, unforeseen players go off and outperform what anyone could have expected. Last week, Darnell Mooney scored 31.5 fantasy points, Jauan Jennings scored 46.4 fantasy points in week three, and Tank Bigsby scored 25.9 fantasy points last week. I am not saying I can predict third-string players scoring in the 30s and 40s, but these picks are going to be the best value for expected performance.
Quarterback DFS Value Picks
Dak Prescott (DFS Value: $6.7K DraftKings and $8K Fanduel)
Dak Prescott probably gets more hate than any other QB in the league, but he is the QB10, and aside from some costly turnovers, he has not been that bad this season. Dak is averaging 284 passing yards per game and is going up against the sixth-worst passing defense. Unless Prescott makes some bad reads he should have a good game.
Jordan Love (DFS Value: $6.6K DraftKings and $8.5K Fanduel)
Jordan Love has thrown for over 220 yards in every game he has played this season and is the QB24 after only playing three games. Love is averaging 20 fantasy points per game and is going against a mediocre Cardinals defense. The Cardinals have not held a QB to under 200 yards this season, Love is poised to have a good game.
Running Back DFS Value Picks
Alexander Mattison (DFS Value: $5.3K DraftKings and $5.6K Fanduel)
Zamir White has been the RB1 all season for the Raiders, but a groin injury kept him out of practice all week. Alexander Mattison saw a season high in touches last week taking 15 rushes for 38 yards and two receptions for 23 yards. Mattison is playing against the worst run defense in the league and for almost half the price of the top-tier runningbacks he could be a steal this week.
Tony Pollard (DFS Value: $6K DraftKings and $7K Fanduel)
Tony Pollard has the potential to have an incredible game this week. The Titans are playing against the Colts who have the worst defense in the league allowing 419 total yards per game. The Titans already have had issues passing the ball, and their only consistency has been running the ball. With a mix of heavy touches and terrible run defense Pollard could go off this Sunday.
Wide Receiver DFS Value Picks
Stefon Diggs (DFS Value: $7.4K on DraftKings and $8K Fanduel)
The Texans have the sixth-best offense in the NFL averaging 376 total yards per game. With Joe Mixon coming back from injury and Nico Collins being on the IR Stefon Diggs could have himself a performance this week. The Patriots have the ninth-worst defense in the NFL, and with other weapons being out look for Diggs to rack up the targets.
Ja’Marr Chase (DFS Value: $8.4K on DraftKings and $9.5K Fanduel)
Ja’Marr Chase is pricey this week, but he is due for a monster game. Chase is the WR1 and has been firing on all cylinders this year. Chase has more games over 100 receiving yards than fewer than 50 receiving yards. The Giants have a bottom 10 defense, and with how potent the Bengals offense has been Chase should have a monster week.
Darnell Mooney (DFS Value: $5.3K on DraftKings and $6.5K Fanduel)
Darnell Mooney has been on fire this season averaging 15 fantasy points per game. Kirk Cousins has this Atlanta offense moving in the right direction, and Darnell Mooney is his go-to receiver. Mooney had an amazing performance last week putting up 31.5 fantasy points, but has also put up 17.8 and 14.6 fantasy points this season. For half the price of elite wide receivers, Darnell Mooney is a steal.
Tight End DFS Value Picks
Jake Ferguson (DFS Value: $5K on DraftKings and $6.1K Fanduel)
Jake Ferguson is the TE9 but did not play in week two and had a minimal role in week one. Ferguson has averaged seven catches and 70 yards for 14 fantasy points in the past three weeks. Ferguson has been one of Dak’s favorite targets this year and against a poor Detroit secondary he should have a good day.
Dalton Schultz (DFS Value: $4.1K on DraftKings and $5.3K Fanduel)
Dalton Schultz has not been having the best year, but that is because the Texans’ offense has a lot of mouths to feed. Schultz is the fourth option on his team, but with Collins and Mixon being out due to injury he should have a good game. The Texans have one of the best offenses in the NFL, and with CJ Stroud at the helm, Schultz is a great cheap option.
DST DFS Value Picks
Eagles (DFS Value: $3.4K on DraftKings and $4.8K Fanduel)
The Eagles are at home against the Cleveland Browns, and the Browns have been struggling on offense, to say the least. The Browns haven’t scored more than 18 points all year and have only one win. Deshaun Watson is only averaging 170 passing yards a game and has a five-to-three touchdown-interception ratio. The Eagles should hold the Browns to nearly no offense.
Broncos (DFS Value: $3.2K on DraftKings and $4.7K Fanduel)
The Chargers started the season 2-0 but have lost their last two and only scored 20 points combined. The Chargers offense has struggled mightily at times this season and Justin Herbert is only averaging 145 passing yards per game. Without the dynamic running of Austin Ekeler, the Broncos should keep the Chargers contained.
