Wide Receiver Start/Sits for Week 6

wide receivers, Chicago Bears WR DJ Moore

Due to injuries and bye weeks, there are plenty of interesting names at wide receiver this week for fantasy football. There are obvious must starts with Amon-Ra St. Brown, CeeDee Lamb, Ja’Marr Chase, and AJ Brown.

Brown is ready to be a smash start coming off his injury against the Cleveland Browns in Week 6. It is a tougher week to determine who not to play, as there are plenty of opportunities with their advantageous matchups. Here are a few must-starts and must-sits, including my lock, fade, and a sleeper of the week at wide receiver.

Wide Receiver Must Starts (Week 6)

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Drake London, Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers

While the passing volume may be down, the consistency of Drake London should make the Atlanta Falcons receiver enter the top-10 discussion for Week 6. This is a clear matchup against the exploitable Carolina Panthers defense with his role and the first read target share in this offense.

Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens vs. Washington Commanders

In a potential shootout, Zay Flowers on the Baltimore Ravens is a must-start against the weaker Washington Commanders secondary. Although he has a few weeks of absence, Flowers can repeat his performance from Week 5 and is the schemed up target getter for this high-powered offense.

Wide Receiver Must Sits (Week 6)

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints

Mike Evans vs. Marshon Lattimore, is going to be a fun matchup to watch. Evans has tons of red zone and big plays in this offense, but this might not be the week for it. Historically, he struggles vs. the Saints so their slot receiver Chris Godwin may get more volume instead.

George Pickens, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Las Vegas Raiders

After a blowout in Week 4, George Pickens had a down in Week 5 and was benched with limited snaps. The Raiders secondary is a good matchup, but there is no guarantee Pickens will get enough targets to pay off. Justin Fields is starting again but Russell Wilson is finally active as his backup. This might be a big game for Najee Harris instead in this offense, who is also not great against the run.

Wide Receiver Lock for Week 6

DJ Moore, Chicago Bears vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (London)

Although DJ Moore has been a consistent floor play, in PPR, he finally found his spark with Caleb Williams translates into fantasy. This is another must-start, as Moore can have a repeatable performance from Week 5. This could lean into an international higher-scoring game, especially through the air.

Wide Receiver Fade for Week 6

Amari Cooper, Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Coming off the bye week, the Eagles’ defense should be ramped up against a struggling Browns offense. Deshaun Watson is playing like the worst quarterback in the NFL. Although there are a good amount of pass attempts in this offense, Amari Cooper is still a fade till there is some consistency even in a good matchup on paper. He is a boom-bust option who has only had a single solid game, while the rest have been duds.

Wide Receiver Sleeper for Week 6

Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Chicago Bears (London)

Brian Thomas Jr. has been a top-10 receiver and even in a tough matchup against the Bears in London, it doesn’t shy away from not starting BTJ. He’s been may more involved in the Jaguars’ offense way more than Christian Kirk or Gabe Davis and has found a connection with Trevor Lawrence. They will need to lean on the rookie to keep up with the Bears’ offense against an exploitable Jags defense.

Conclusion on Wide Receivers Week 6

Tank Dell against the Patriots could finally be the breakout game, with Nico Collins on injured reserve and Stefon Diggs now their WR1. However, watch the weather for this game, as it could be a slow grinder and not as high-scoring. Garrett Wilson on the Jets finally got the high target share, but it is a difficult matchup against the Bills for Monday Night Football. Terry McLaurin, like Flowers, is also a must-start in a high-scoring environment with the Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens.
