A.T. Perry 2024 Fantasy Outlook: Relevant Flex Or Obvious Bust?

A.T. Perry

With the 265th pick in the 2023 NFL draft, The New Orleans Saints selected A.T. Perry. 2023 was not a very productive season for The New Orleans Saints wide receivers outside of Chris Olave.

Perrys’ rookie season probably didn’t go as planned, finishing the season with less than 20 catches and fewer than 5 touchdowns. Can he expand his role in 2024?

A Glimpse at A.T. Perry in College

The Wake Forest alum finished his collegiate career with 149 catches, 2662 yards, and 28 touchdowns across 4 seasons according to the Wake Forest official website. This shows that A.T. Perry can make an impact when given the opportunity.

2023 Obstacles/Fantasy Finish

Perry’s 2023 season only saw him play in 10 games. Playing behind Chris Olave, Michael Thomas and Rashid Shaheed didn’t help Perry’s chances as an early rookie contributor. With Michael Thomas currently a free agent, expect A.T. Perry to fill the role Thomas was in over the past seven seasons.

Perry finished the season as the WR 97 on Sleeper in ’23. Looking at that number may seem he underperformed when he actually finished 49 spots above his projections.

With Michael Thomas no longer in the picture. A.T. Perry has climbed the depth chart to the number two spot. This gives fantasy managers cause to hope that they might have found a steal if they took a flyer on Perry in the late rounds.

2024 Fantasy Outlook

Going into his second season with The New Orleans Saints look for Perry to finish above his projections again. Sleeper has Perry projected to finish as the WR 113, with an ADP of 282.8.

A.T. Perry should see a major increase in work during his second season with The Saints. More familiarity with the playbook, and quarterback Derek Carr, expect Perry to improve his numbers from last season (12 receptions on 18 targets for 246 yards and 4 touchdowns).

At 6-foot-5 the second-year wide receiver has the size to be able to win 50/50 balls on a consistent basis, paired with his 4.47 speed. It’s easy to see why The Saints drafted Perry.

Final Thoughts

A.T. Perry may not be the pick of dreams for fantasy football managers, but having more opportunities available in 2024 Perry’s workload should increase to the likes of your typical WR 2 on the field.

Giving fantasy managers a valuable WR 3/4 to throw in your flex. The best part about Perry will be his low-risk, high-reward potential that may not even cost managers a draft pick.

If your last few rounds come along and you aren’t sure who to take give A.T. Perry a spot on your roster. Steal your league in the final few rounds by securing a bench stash, with high potential to be a consistent fantasy contributor once the new year gets underway.
