The NBA has a small slate of games tonight, but some of the best teams will be hitting the court. While there are only four games to choose from, all of them provide plenty of players to choose from in NBA DFS.

NBA DFS Must Starts
Giannis Antetokounmpo
I probably don’t need to tell you to start Giannis in NBA DFS, but today’s slate features many expensive players. LeBron James is out, meaning Anthony Davis should see more work. Luke Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are ball-dominant point guards who rack up stats. There are so many great options, but I like Giannis the best. Since the All-Star break, the superstar has eight double-doubles and a triple-double.
He also rises to the occasion in big games. The Milwaukee Bucks are 4-1 against the Mavericks, Nuggets, and Thunder this season. In those games, Giannis Antetokounmpo has averaged 36.6 points, 14.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. If you decide to start Luka, it is fine, but the ceiling for Giannis is much higher.
D’Angelo Russell/Austin Reaves
I’m cheating here a little bit with two players, but I have the same reason for starting them in NBA DFS. The Lakers and Bucks met two weeks ago under similar circumstances. LeBron James was out, giving more opportunities for players like Russell and Reaves. Reaves had a solid game with 18 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Russell had a career game. He scored 44 points on 17-25 shooting and added nine assists and six rebounds.
While I wouldn’t expect Russell to repeat that performance, he is still a great, affordable play for your lineup. Reaves doesn’t have quite as high of a ceiling but is a fine play as well in NBA DFS. I’m gonna sneak another one in here. Khris Middleton is a sneaky good play, too. He has been solid since coming back from injury.
Josh Giddey
Let me be very clear. I am not a huge fan of Josh Giddey overall. However, there is a reason why I am putting him in the must-start. His stats over the last ten games have been very good. He has averaged 13.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. In the last game against the Bucks, he even went 4-6 from three!
The good news for Giddey is that he is still very cheap in NBA DFS. His ceiling is huge but when you are looking for mid-tier players to fill out your roster, you want a safe floor. Giddey provides a safe floor for stat production.
NBA DFS Sits And Fades
Trey Murphy
With Brandon Ingram out, Murphy has been inserted into the starting lineup. While it is tempting to play him, I am fading him in NBA DFS. His play is wildly inconsistent. In the last four games, his shooting percentages were 30.8, 60.0, 36.4, and 8.3. This leads to inconsistent stat lines. When he goes off, your lineup does well. When he doesn’t, it has the potential to lose you the day.
I like Trey Murphy off the bench in NBA DFS. Some players do better against the second unit. Murphy seems to be one of those players. It’s not a bad play to pick Trey Murphy but be cautious.
Steph Curry
Of all the superstars playing on Tuesday night, I am fading Steph Curry. His last ten games have been uninspiring. He has averaged 24.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. While these aren’t bad stats by any means, they aren’t worth the price you will be paying.
The slate also plays a factor in this fade in NBA DFS. If you are looking for a superstar player to start, I like any of the following players more than Curry: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damantas Sabonis, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luke Doncic, Damian Lillard, Zion Williamson, or De’Aaron Fox.
It is a fun day for NBA DFS. Even though there are not many games, all of them offer fun players to choose from.
