Henry Cejudo vs Merab Dvalishvili DFS Fight Props and Breakdown| 2/17/2024

Henry Cejudo

Henry Cejudo and Merab Dvalishvili are fighting at UFC 298. Although the main card sees the likes of Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria fighting for the Featherweight belt, there are other intriguing matchups. The Honda Center promises to be electrifying. But where can you potentially find some value for your fantasy lineup? Two fighters will have a go tonight at Bantamweight. One fighter continues to impress with a winning streak dating back to 2018. On the other hand, the other corner has someone who took a three-year break. Although he’s stayed focused on the game, fighting in the octagon is entirely different for a UFC event.

This featherweight battle between Henry Cejudo and Merab Dvalishvili will be a good one! Where can you see any value in either the current odds or for your fantasy team?

Half of Henry Cejudo’s wins came from a knockout. But it’s harder to judge him due to the years that he took off. Against Aljamain Sterling defeated him, but it was a result of the judges. It was a split decision, but Sterling landed more hits and controlled more of the fight. However, it was still a good showing from Cejudo.

Merab Dvalishvili

Nationality:  Georgian

Date of Birth: January 10, 1991

Height: 5’6”

Reach: 68”

Weight: 165

Stance: Orthodox

Record: 16-4-0

Knockout Wins: 3

Merab Dvalishvili is on a nine-fight winning streak. Although he lost two before that streak started, even then! Before those losses, he won an additional six fights in a row. In other words, he is very good. Dvalishvili will likely look to take this fight to the ground throughout it. Henry Cejudo will need to have his takedown defense ready at all times tonight.

Fight Prediction

Even though Dvalishvili is the favorite, I like Henry Cejudo here. The American is more than capable and has the experience and knowledge of how to make things competitive. Even if you don’t like the upset, a quick stoppage by either fighter is unlikely. Therefore, if you like Dvalishvili to win then parlaying that with the over to give you more value is the correct move. However, trusting in the scorecards is too risky for me to consider any of the spread options. But I do like Cejudo to win outright. This is because of how he looked during the Sterling fight. Although he did not necessarily do enough to win, it was impressive enough considering how much time there was before his last fight. But with more focused training time in camp, I see Henry Cejudo having something of an upside tonight from a fantasy perspective.
