Tight End Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups

Tight ends have been showing a lot more consistency over the last few weeks but what Week 9 delivered was players who shocked the world that they delivered. Of the 13 players who had at least 9.5 fantasy points this week, most of them are not the tight ends that come to mind when people think of the position. What that tells us is that waiver wire is supremely important because it seems anyone can have a big weekend no matter if they are well-known or not. That makes fantasy owners have to focus the most on the tight-end waiver wire.

Top Three Tight End Pickups for Week 10

Saints TE Taysom Hill

The former quarterback turned gadget player had his best week of the season. Hill has been banged up which had him missing a couple of games so far in 2024. The Saints are on a seven-game losing streak and fired their head coach. But with the Saints banged up at running back, that led to more touches for Hill at both tight end and in running situations.

Hill had 60 scrimmage yards with a rushing touchdown. The Saints offense is more dynamic with Derek Carr running the show, with Hill being a focal point next to Alvin Kamara. Hill is the most unique offensive weapon in the sport and to roster him in fantasy gives you a high ceiling. So don’t wait long and snatch Taysom Hill.

Giants TE Theo Johnson

The rookie tight end out of Penn State has had a mostly quiet rookie season but in Week 9, he had the performance of his career. Johnson got 14.1 fantasy points with 3 catches, 56 yards, and a touchdown in the Giants’ loss against the Commanders. The Giants are obviously one of the teams that are looking toward the future rather than the present and the player who stepped up last week was their rookie tight end.

Outside of rookie receiver Malik Nabers, there are some opportunities for other players to get some looks. This past week, it was Johnson. The Giants are traveling to Germany to play the Panthers, who might be the worst team in the sport. If there is any chance for sustained success, it starts with the Giants’ Week 10 game in Germany.

Panthers TE Ja’Tavion Sanders

Another tight end to stream this week in the Germany game is the Panthers rookie tight end. Sanders has had an up-and-down year filled with two quarterbacks being in and out of the Panthers lineup. In the Week 9 win over the Saints, Sanders had 4 catches and led the team with 87 receiving yards.

It’s his second game in double figures as it pertains to fantasy points. Carolina’s tight end is finding his footing in his first year in the National Football League. The Panthers will be taking on a Giants team that should be playing with the lead. As the Panthers will be trailing in the majority of their games for the rest of the season, that means more passing opportunities. Sanders could find himself with good production moving forward, which makes him very valuable on the waiver wire.
