Week 7 of the NFL season has officially arrived and the landscape at the quarterback position is starting to solidify with the constant performers and the performers that will let you down when it comes to making money in daily fantasy. This week we have an interesting slate with the Chiefs and 49ers having a Super Bowl rematch and several key divisional matchups including Eagles vs Giants. Here’s a look at the starts for Week 7
Quarterback Must Starts For Week 7
Jalen Hurts ($7,300 Draft Kings, $8,500 FanDuel)
Jalen Hurts is coming off a game where he had no turnovers for the first time this season against the Cleveland Browns. Hurts passed for 264 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Browns with AJ Brown and Devonta Smith returning from injury after the bye week.
This week, Hurts and the Eagles are playing the New York Giants in Saquon Barkley’s return to MetLife. This should be an interesting game for Hurts, this is a risky start but Hurts should still have a great game and Hurts is averaging 19 points per game on both platforms.
Kirk Cousins ($6,300 Draft Kings, $7,200 FanDuel)
Kirk Cousins is playing a Seattle team that has been exposed these last three weeks by Jared Goff, Daniel Jones, and Brock Purdy. Cousins is a strong play especially at a budget in Week 7 as the Falcons offense has been one of the bright spots so far this season overall. Cousins has averaged 16 fantasy points per game on FanDuel this season.
Jordan Love and CJ Stroud (Love: $6,900 Draft Kings, $8,700 FanDuel Stroud: $7,100 Draft Kings, $8,400 FanDuel)
The Green Bay Packers vs Houston Texans matchup in Week 7 features two quarterbacks that have had strong seasons up to this point with Jordan Love who is coming off a dominant four-touchdown performance against the Arizona Cardinals. Love has thrown for 12 touchdowns thus far this season.
Meanwhile, CJ Stroud is also entering this week with 10 touchdowns this season thus far. Even though Stroud will probably be without Nico Collins, this game will probably be high-scoring, so either quarterback is worth a start.
Quarterback Must Sits for Week 7
On the flip side, here are a few of the players we are sitting in Week 7.
Kyler Murray ($6,700 Draft Kings, $8,100 FanDuel)
Kyler Murray is going into Week 7 against the Chargers in a slump the last few weeks especially last week where he and the offense struggled on all fronts. And he’s going to be without Marvin Harrison Jr. this week most likely due to a Concussion the young rookie receiver suffered in the Packers game.
Murray has had a decent fantasy season where he’s averaged 17-18 fantasy points per game on both platforms, but a Chargers defense that dominated the Broncos will keep Murray contained.
Jared Goff ($6,500 Draft Kings, $7,800 FanDuel)
Jared Goff is coming off a dismantling of the Dallas Cowboys in Jerry’s World on Jerry Jones’ 82nd Birthday this past Sunday. Goff was also a perfect 18-18 against the Seattle Seahawks earlier this season as well, so the trendy budget pick is going to be picking Goff. This week, I would advise against that because Brian Flores’s defense has been opportunistic a lot of the time this season and has been one of the league leaders in takeaways. Sit Goff this week on the DFS scene.
Lock of Week 7
Jayden Daniels ($7,600 Draft Kings, $9,100 FanDuel)
Jayden Daniels has been one of the best fantasy quarterbacks thus far this season averaging over 22 fantasy points per game on both Draft Kings and FanDuel. In Week 7, Daniels is going to be playing the Carolina Panthers who have been giving up points to opponents all season long. Daniels should continue his stellar rookie campaign against the Panthers in front of a Commanders’ fan base that is starting to believe again.
Fade of Week 7
Brock Purdy ($6,400 Draft Kings, $7,700 FanDuel)
Brock Purdy has been playing well with all of the adversity with injuries that the San Francisco 49ers have been dealing with this season but the fact of the matter is that the last time that Purdy played the Kansas City Chiefs wasn’t the best showing for the former Iowa State Cyclone.
Yes, Purdy has grown as a quarterback since February but he has had some bad games this year, like the Vikings game in Week 2. Steve Spagnolo can replicate that gameplan that Brian Flores used by using Trent McDuffie as a weapon on the defensive side of the ball.
Sleeper of the Day/Week
Drake Maye ($5,300 Draft Kings, $7,200 FanDuel)
Drake Maye is coming off his first NFL start where he had some issues against a fiery Texans defense but showed some flashes. Maye threw for 265 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions against the Texans. This week in London, Maye should have an easier time against the Jacksonville Jaguars 32nd ranked defense against the pass.
