The Orioles vs Mets was a fun baseball game on August 19th with a walk-off home run by the Mets in the Bottom of the Ninth inning in the first game of a three-game series in Queens. The Orioles look to bounce back with the win in game two to get back even with the Yankees in the AL East Standings. Meanwhile, the Mets must keep their momentum to return to an NL Wild Card spot.
This game 2 matchup with the Orioles vs Mets starts at 7:10 p.m. Let’s look at the Start/Sits for Orioles vs Mets.
Orioles vs Mets Fantasy Starts
Gunnar Henderson ($6,100 Draft Kings, $4,400 FanDuel)
Henderson has been the Baltimore Orioles’ best player so far in 2024, as he has hit a .287 average, with 33 home runs, and 77 RBIs while having a .932 OPS before this upcoming game against the New York Mets. Last night was one of his off nights as he went 0-3 at the plate for the O’s in the game. Look for Henderson to bounce back on Tuesday night and have a multi-hit game.
Francisco Alvarez ($3,200 Draft Kings, $2,600 FanDuel)
Alvarez the hero of Monday’s game after hitting the walk-off home run off Seranthony Dominguez is going to be a start for me as well on Tuesday. The home run was the only hit he had as he went 1-3 on the night in the win for the New York Mets. Alvarez is one of those great value players on the day with his $3,200 value on Draft Kings.
Ryan Mountcastle ($4,000 Draft Kings, $3,100 FanDuel)
Mountcastle is one of the Orioles that hasn’t been in a slump as of late and was 2-4 in Monday’s game. Mountcastle is one of the guys who is consistently getting on base or getting a timely hit lately for the Baltimore Orioles. Expect a strong Mountcastle game against the lefty Quintana on Tuesday.
Orioles vs Mets Sits
Adley Rutschman ($5,300 Draft Kings, $3,100 FanDuel)
Normally I would say start Adley but, the Baltimore Orioles Catcher is in one of his worst stretches as a hitter he’s had in 2024. Rutschman over the last seven days is 4-20 with 1 home run and 2 RBIs, as he was 0-4 in the game on Monday. Rutschman is due for a boom period but against a lefty again might be tough to get that boom period started.
Francisco Lindor ($5,700 Draft Kings, $3,900 FanDuel)
The New York Mets Shortstop is another one I would normally say is an everyday start but in the last two games, he’s hitting 1-8 with just a RBI to show for it, as he was 0-3 in the game on Monday. Lindor might bounce back on Tuesday but might need a couple of games to get back to the Lindor we’re used to before putting him back into lineups consistently.
Cedric Mullins ($3,900 Draft Kings, $2,900 FanDuel)
Mullins is currently going through the worst season of his career at the plate and it’s a lefty on the mound once again, this is a sit once again for Mullins. Mullins is an exciting player because of his defense and when he’s on at the plate he’s on but Mullins this season is only hitting .223 on the year with 13 home runs and 41 RBIs.
Orioles vs Mets Pitching Matchup
Dean Kramer (5-9, 4.48 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 84 Ks, 90.1 IP) vs Jose Quintana (6-8, 4.26 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 103 Ks, 129.0 IP)
Both of these starters in the Orioles vs Mets game are a sit in DFS lineups on Tuesday as both pitchers are having mediocre seasons on the mound Kramer ($7,300 Draft Kings, $8,200 FanDuel) has to be thrust into the lineups because of the injuries Baltimore Orioles have on their pitching staff and Quintana ($7,200 Draft Kings, $7,800 FanDuel) isn’t the same pitcher he was with the White Sox or the early stint with the Cubs. If you must play one of these two pitchers, it’s Quintana.
