Main Slate DFS Preview Starting Five| April 30th, 2025

lakers dfs

Two big games happen tonight for the Main NBA Slate DFS: Timberwolves vs. Lakers and Rockets vs. Warriors. Having two West Coast games should be like candy for DFS players since all of these teams have plenty of shooters on their starting lineups. Picking from these options can be tricky, though; Stephen Curry is only a couple of nights removed from dropping 17. Other players have had their off nights, and the name of the game is figuring out who is going to perform tonight.

Rockets

(1-3)

Outdoing Stephen Curry is no easy task. Yet, in Game 4 of the Rockets vs. Warriors series, Podziemski did just that with his 27 points. More importantly, he was 6-11 from three-point range. This proved to Head Coach Steve Kerr and Curry that Podziemski can be trusted to shoot from range if the other shooters are having a bad night. Not only did he have a great Game 4, but he’s earned himself more shots in the upcoming game.

Luka Doncic

Los Angeles Lakers

AT

Minnesota Wolves

(3-1)

Luka just lit up the scoreboard in Game 4 with his 38-point performance. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to come away with a win, but that will only motivate Luka more. Since he is facing elimination, he will likely take it upon himself to score even more to lift the Lakers to a victory. He is expensive for DFS, but 10.8K (for Draft Kings) is worth it for guaranteed value.

Starting Forwards

Julius Randle

Minnesota Timberwolves

AT

Los Angeles Lakers

(1-3)

While plenty of NBA fans are talking about Anthony Edwards’s performances through this first round of the playoffs, Julius Randle’s highlights are going a little under the radar. That being said, his knocking down three shots from behind the arc in Game 4 was remarkable. He scored 25 points total, which was only second to Edwards’ 43 points. At 7.1K, it’s hard to find a better forward at that value.

Jimmy Butler

Golden State Warriors

AT

Houston Rockets

(1-3)

Usually, when Steph Curry has a mediocre game, that’s a wrap for the Warriors. Fortunately, Butler came through in Game 4 with 27 points. He was really aggressive with the ball, and in a heated series, that passion can carry a player a long way. Although Curry will likely get back to his winning ways, it might be a better bet to wager that Butler has another strong game since he can still contribute if he isn’t knocking down the three.

Starting Center

Alperen Sengun

Houston Rockets

AT

Golden State Warriors

(3-1)

While other players on Houston are taking a bit of a back seat (Jalen Green), Sengun has been stepping up. He scored 31 in Game 4 whereas Green only had eight points. Part of this came from Draymond Green being in foul trouble. Senpren can simply score in the paint on whichever bench player Golden State wants to guard him with. If Green gets in foul trouble again, look for Houston to feed Sengun in the paint again.
