The Brooklyn Nets (30-47) host the Detroit Pistons (13-64) for a Saturday evening game. The home team has had troubles of their own. But the visitors only nearly avoided a catastrophic season. Both teams are struggling at this point. However, there are some good fantasy plays out here today. Regardless of what you think of either side, someone will produce.
Who do you see having a potentially big impact on your fantasy lineup today?
Brooklyn Nets vs. Detroit Pistons Obvious Starts
Cam Thomas – PG/SG ($7,800 DK)
Thomas is someone who can give you great fantasy value. He’s averaging 32.5 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he leads this Brooklyn Nets team in scoring at 22.1 points per game. But he’s someone who gets himself going, and we’ll see plenty of the ball, and he has an overall big impact.
Malachi Flynn – PG ($4,800 DK)
Flynn has made headlines as of late. But he’s someone who will at least get plenty of decent looks and shot attempts. At his current price, the floor is 3x fantasy value. He’s going to see touches and minutes. Therefore, by the process of elimination, he’s someone that you can rely on for this Detroit Pistons team as they play the Brooklyn Nets today.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Detroit Pistons Start ‘Em
Mikal Bridges – SG/SF ($7,100 DK)
Bridges is going to have an all-around big game. At 34.9 fantasy points per contest, you’re going to get around 4X value. Even if the Nets end up winning by a huge margin by the time starters get pulled, he should have seen his fair share of touches and opportunities. However, this is a Nets team that hasn’t exactly been able to pull away from anyone for most of the season. Therefore, that concern can mostly be at ease.
Nic Claxton – C ($6,900 DK)
Claxton is going to at least have a monster day in terms of rebounding. However, he’s an easy lock for minimum double digits in scoring. Therefore, at 33.0 fantasy points per game, he is someone that must be included in your fantasy lineup.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Detroit Pistons Sit ‘Em
Jaden Ivey – PG/SG ($6,500 DK)
Ivey can have a big impact or have very little impact, depending on the evening. His overall inconsistency is something to be worried about. He’s coming off of a 40.3 fantasy point game. However, that was off of six of eight shooting from three-point range. Because that’s not likely to happen two games in a row, and because his season averages only 27.5, this is too risky. Furthermore, the Brooklyn Nets defense should be able to hone in on and focus on limiting him specifically. Therefore, in today’s matchup, there are simply other players priced around the same amount or lower who can give you greater fantasy value.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Detroit Pistons Lock of the Day
Dennis Schroder – PG ($6,500 DK)
Schroder is someone who can also be hot and cold. However, tonight they are playing the Detroit Pistons. Therefore, he’s someone who will at least give you 4x value if he stays true to his 28.7 fantasy points per game. But for tonight, I see a little bit of an upside. Even if starters get pulled, I see him having a little longer runway with the Brooklyn Nets tonight.
