Toronto Raptors vs Houston Rockets DFS Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em| 2/9/2024

Toronto Raptors

The Houston Rockets (23-27) travel to Canada to play the Toronto Raptors (18-33). This game is crucial as the visitors are only a game and a half back of the ten seed in the Western Conference. However, dropping too many more games against teams with a losing record will quickly make the gap insurmountable.

For tonight, who’s poised to give their team the edge in this pivotal game?

Toronto Raptors vs Houston Rockets Obvious Starts

Scottie Barnes– PG/SF ($8,500 DK/$8,600 FD)

He averages 44.4 FPPG. Additionally, he is averaging just a touch over 35 minutes a game. Regardless of how the game plays out, he’ll get plenty of touches and plenty of looks. It’s usually hard to find his teammates contributing in terms of scoring. Therefore, he often leads this team in scoring. Barring something unforeseen, he will get 24+ points tonight.

Jalen Green– PG/SG ($7,300/$7,500)

He’s scored over 30 points in four out of his last six games. Even if he has a slump tonight, he’ll still get plenty of close looks and easy buckets. He sometimes stays on the perimeter for his shot selection, but if that isn’t open he’ll take what the defense gives him. Regardless he will have a nice scoring evening. Over the last ten days, he is averaging 40.3 FPPG.

Immanuel Quickley– PG/SG ($6,800 DK/$7,400 FD)

The former 25th pick out of Kentucky is in a recent scoring uptick. In his last game against the Hornets, he scored 18 points. He also chipped in 3 rebounds and four assists for a total of 29.3 fantasy points on the evening. Additionally, he averages 31.6 FPPG over this current 10-day stretch. Also with Fred VanFleet being out (adductor), he will be able to take advantage of whoever ends up facing up against him on defense.

Bruce Brown– SF ($5,600 DK/ $5,500 FD)

Although RJ Barrett is returning, he should still see plenty of opportunities to contribute. Though he will likely come off of the bench, he is still someone who will play an important aspect in this game. Over the last five matchups, he has averaged 22.6 FPPG. In his last game, he played against the Hornets. In roughly 21 minutes he still earned 23.8 fantasy points.

RJ Barrett– ($7,200 DK/$7,500 FD)

Including him here is because of a combination of two things. He is coming off of a 23-point performance on 4-6 shooting, and some too many good players are lower in price. This is not likely to happen again, and he is due for an off night.

Toronto Raptors vs Houston Rockets Lock of the Game

Toronto Raptors

Jakob Poeltl– ($6,200 DK/$6,700 FD)

The center is an overall fundamental player. Even if he doesn’t score much he always flirts with a double-double. While also contributing nearly 3 assists a game he can provide a fantasy Swiss army knife. He gives you on average 28.8 FPPG. But for tonight, the matchups look good and he’s posed for a big night!
