Washington Commanders at Los Angeles Chargers DFS Start Em’ Sit Em’| Week 5

Two of the best offenses in the NFL will clash when the Los Angeles Chargers play the Washington Commanders. Despite getting hit with some devastating injuries, the Commanders should have both Jaylen Daniels and Terry McLaurin suiting up for the game. With both teams having their full complement of weapons ready to go, this could be a game with huge point turnout.

Lock of the Game

Before the injury, Daniels was on pace for a great season. In his two games, he had over 200 yards of total offense and a phenomenal touchdown-to-interception ratio of three to zero. This game could also become a shootout since both offenses are great. If that’s the case, look for Daniels to score well above his projections with his legs as well as his arm.

Start ‘Em

After a rough start, it looks like Omarion Hampton is starting to look how the scouts expected him to look when the Chargers drafted him. Hampton got a touchdown in each of the two previous games while rushing for 70 yards and 128 yards, respectively. The big reason for Hampton’s rise has been Najee Harris’ injury, which is still keeping him on the bench for this game, which means Hampton gets to have the bulk of the carries once more.

Targeting Deebo Samuel might already be baked into the game plan since Washington’s other star receiver, Terry McLaurin, is returning from injury. Even when McLaurin was healthy, though, Samuel had been getting most of the production, scoring two touchdowns on the season. Don’t be surprised if Samuel gets used in some creative ways, as he’s had three carries in each of the last two games.

Sit ‘Em

Due to his injury, McLaurin might not be getting targeted as much as he usually is. In general, McLaurin has yet to have a breakout game. He’s had below 50 yards in the first two games of the season. Of course, talent-wise, McLaurin is a lot better than his production this season would suggest. His breakout game probably won’t come immediately after his injury, though, since Daniels can simply spread the ball out to his other weapons.

Ladd McConkey is in a similar situation to Terry McLaurin. McConkey is still a great talent, but he hasn’t put together a decent game yet. In the loss to the New York Giants, McConkey only had one catch for 11 yards. Quentin Johnston and Keenan Allen have been soaking up all the targets, so McConkey can’t really be started until Herbert starts giving him the ball more.

Fade of the Game

Rodriguez Jr. has been filling in for an injured Austin Ekeler. In his two games played, though, Rodriguez Jr. has been kept out of the endzone and has a season high of 59 yards. If any running back on the Commanders is going to have a good game, it will be Jacory “Bill” Croskey-Merrit, who has two touchdowns on the season and rushed for 82 yards against the Giants.
