Chris Godwin 2024 Dynasty Outlook

Chris Godwin has made his presence known not only in the NFL this year but for many fantasy owners alike. But is his season sustainable for the remainder of the year? Also, the question remains, how many more years does he have left in the tank? All that and more will be answered in a few short paragraphs.

Chris Godwin’s Future In Fantasy

Chris Godwin had an amazing first three weeks as far as fantasy managers are concerned and then came back down to earth with more reasonable but still respectable numbers. The question is, will Chris Godwin maintain this output? Will he get back up to elite level? Or will he steadily decline? If you are only looking at the numbers it is realistic to think he can maintain his numbers and even have a few more weeks of elite games.

If you are actually watching these games, you will see that Chris Godwin has been taking monster hits week in and week out to put up these numbers. From an objective point of few, it does not seem sustainable for Chris Godwin to maintain the kind of punishment he has had to endure to put up these numbers. Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will need to find different ways to get Godwin the ball without having him get cracked over the middle of the field. If that can’t happen, then I foresee a negative trajectory.

Chris Godwin Outlook past 2024

The 28-year-old former third-round draft pick from Penn State has been a steady source of consistent points for many managers over the years. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, we deal in the “what have you done for me now” mindset. While the 2024 season has been above average thus far, there are murky waters ahead.

For instance, there seems to be an increase in shares of Mike Evans that doesn’t seem to be going away, and can Baker Mayfield stay as consistent as he currently is? Or will Mayfield come back down to Earth, and how long will he be in Tampa Bay? With all these factors it is easy to see why Chris Godwin is on shaky ground as fantasy-relevant.

Then comes the age factor. In the real world, 28 is the prime of youth and maturity. In football, that is the beginning of a downhill trend or the start of the end of one’s career. With age and other factors it is beginning to look like a bleak outlook past the 2024 season, so squeeze all you can out of it.

Chris Godwin Value

Chris Godwin’s value lies in the here and now. The recommendation of this expert is to buy, only if you are making a playoff push and are down a key Wide receiver/flex spot. If Nico Collins is going to cost you a playoff spot, then go get Chris Godwin. If you can survive the injury or are right there point-wise, then it is best to hold off on buying.

There is a dwindling ROI (return on investment) as there will not be much value the later the season goes on and even less in the coming years if any at all. But if it means getting a title or a shot at the big dance, well there is still enough juice of a big push to put you over the top. Just don’t go crazy in a team trying to sell him for who he was.

Buy him for what he is currently and what he will be, which is less of value. A 3rd round 2025 pick or if you are desperate a 2nd round 2025 pick. A player wise a Javonte Williams or a James Conner would be of fair value.
