Xavier Worthy was a first-round draft pick for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2024 draft, and thus far he is making a case for himself as to why he should get the ball early and often. We will be dining into Xavier Worthy as a player and how he fits into the puzzle that is dynasty fantasy football. Not only for this season but beyond, as well as the value he carries now and for the future.
Xavier Worthy Future In Fantasy
Xavier Worthy has had a pretty much average to an above-average start to his rookie campaign. While it is no Malik Nabers start, the Kansas City Chiefs can’t be too upset with the results thus far into the 2024 season, with Rashee Rice out for the foreseeable future, that makes a lot of room for looks and targets for the young rookie star.
While the numbers aren’t showing a whole lot of targets, one thing is for certain Xavier Worthy is making the most of his time with the ball when he does get a hold of it. The future is definitely bright as injuries have paved the way for this young man to be the go-to guy for Patrick Mahomes. Only time will tell how he will make the most of it, but the Vegas odds are saying this young man should have a pretty darn good rookie year.
Xavier Worthy Outlook Past 2024
The outlook for Xavier Worthy is a bright one, that is as long as Patrick Mahomes is under center and being the dang luckiest quarterback to ever live. With no sign of a new quarterback coming into town, it is a safe bet that Xavier Worthy will only improve as he develops a better and better connection with Patrick Mahomes.
The skills and abilities speak for themselves, Xavier Worthy has been able to step right into the NFL and be an asset for his team. As far as anyone is concerned he can only get better, and there is not much of a learning curve going on thus far in his young career. The only thing that could dampen the future of Xavier Worthy is if the Kansas City Chiefs go on a spending spree and go out get get a ton of front-line starters. Barring that situation there is no reason why Xavier Worthy won’t be an elite wide receiver in the very near future.
Xavier Worthy Value
Buy and buy fast before he has a true breakout game. Depending on your own scoring system, aside from the first game, the fantasy scores haven’t been eye-popping numbers. This may be the time to try and get Xavier Worthy for at least a reasonable cost. It is only a matter of time before this young man takes off and puts up great numbers game after game.
To assign a fair value for Worthy is a tough call, as each league has different point values, but I would be as bold to say at least a 2025 first-rounder, if not maybe add a 4th, or if you really want him a 3rd. As far as fair player value, I would say Burrows, Herbert, or Barkley as straight-up trades. But take into account your own scoring, don’t sell the whole farm for Xavier Worthy, but he has great value now and even more so in the future, so it’s ok to loosen the purse strings a little.
