In one year, Sam Darnold has gone from a backup quarterback in San Francisco to a bonafide MVP candidate with the Vikings. He leads the NFL in passing touchdowns through three games with eight and has beaten two Super Bowl contenders in back-to-back weeks. Green Bay’s defense has looked formidable against inferior opponents but they gave up 34 points to a legitimate Philadelphia offense. Darnold has this Vikings offense cooking and Green Bay’s defense might get exposed.
Jayden Reed, Wide Receiver, Green Bay Packers (DraftKings: $6K, Fanduel: $6.3K)
Jayden Reed has picked up right where he left off last season making electric plays with the ball in his hands. He’s averaging 16.9 fantasy points per game on only 5 touches per game, rushes, and receptions combined. Potentially having Jordan Love back for this matchup elevates Reed even more. The Vikings’ defense gets after the quarterback recording at least five sacks in all three games this season. Look for Love to get him quick easy touches like screens or jet sweeps for easy fantasy points.

Brandon Powell, Wide Receiver, Minnesota Vikings (DraftKings: $3.3K, Fanduel: $4.8K)
Brandon Powell has been operating as the WR3 for the Vikings with Jordan Addison injured the last two games. Addison appears to be in line to play this week which bumps him back down to WR4. Barring an injury, Powell’s usage takes a significant hit and he should be sat this week until a role opens back up for him.
Jordan Love, Quarterback, Green Bay Packers (DraftKings: $6K, Fanduel: $7.2K)
Jordan Love has missed the last two games with a sprained MCL and appears ready to return this week. However, this is the worst possible week for him to return after a knee injury. The Vikings defense has three of their five interceptions against top 10 quarterbacks. They lead the league with 16 sacks and are allowing, only 10 points per game this season which ranks third among all defenses. He’ll get some garbage time yards but turnovers look likely in this one. Go ahead and sit him out this time.

Who doesn’t love a good revenge game? Aaron Jones was disrespected and demanded to take a pay cut while in Green Bay. He’s wearing purple now and has been dominating, in his first three games. Jones is averaging 18.2 fantasy points per game in his first season with the Vikings. This game means a lot to him so there is a good chance he will do a Lambeau Leap again, but this time for the visiting team.

Christian Watson, Wide Receiver, Green Bay Packers (DraftKings: $5K, Fanduel: $5.6K)
Christian Watson is in his third season with the Green Bay Packers and is dangerously close to being considered a bust. He hasn’t consistently stayed healthy and when he has been on the field, he hasn’t stood out more than any other receiver on the roster. The Vikings’ defense hasn’t given up a touchdown to a wide receiver yet in 2024 and Watson is, at best, the fourth option in this offense. Aside from his only touchdown back in week one, he’s irrelevant and should stay on the bench.

The Packers are favored in this game at home and need to win to keep pace in one of the toughest divisions in the league.
