Tre Harris 2024 Devy Outlook

From Comeaux High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, Tre Harris was rated as a three-star prospect in the class of 2020 by the 247Sports Composite Ranking. He was ranked as the 96th best player in Louisiana, the 176th best athlete, and the 2258th best player in the country. Harris signed with Louisiana Tech and spent three years with the Bulldogs before entering the transfer portal after the 2022 season.

At Louisiana Tech, Harris hauled in 106 passes for 1,527 yards and 14 touchdowns. The bulk of his production came in 2022, as he finished that season with 65 receptions, 935 yards, and 10 touchdowns. In 2023, Harris transferred to Ole Miss, where he became one of Jaxson Dart’s primary targets. In his first season in Oxford, Harris caught 54 balls for 985 yards and eight touchdowns.

Harris has the prototypical NFL size for a wide receiver. At 6’3” and 210 pounds, he has the size/speed combination NFL teams look for. His length and strong hands are perfect for 50/50 balls and vertical routes. His ability to high-point the ball and shield it from defenders makes pass breakups difficult.

Tre Harris’ catch radius also allows him to adjust to balls most other wide receivers would not be able to get to. His ability to help out his quarterback on off-target passes is a potential game-changer at the NFL level. His size and strength give him the physical edge over nearly every cornerback and his speed gives him the edge over bigger defensive backs.

Tre Harris Devy Outlook

While at Louisiana Tech, Harris proved to be a productive college-level player, but it wasn’t until he performed at Ole Miss did he started to gain NFL Draft attention. The step up in competition showed he was more than just a good athlete who could dominate lower-level competition. Now, Tre Harris is looked at as a probable day-two selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. With every game he plays against SEC competition, he is putting consistently better film together for NFL scouts.

In my devy rankings, Tre Harris is ranked as the 12th overall wide receiver and sixth among 2025 draft-eligible WRs. The depth at the wide receiver position is heavy at the top with Luther Burden, Tet McMillan, Evan Stewart, and Emeka Egbuka. However, it gets a little shallower after that top group. Looking at another big season in 2024, Harris is set up nicely to be at the top of the next group that includes Elic Ayomanor, Antonio Williams, Xavier Restrepo, Denzel Boston, and Tory Horton.
