The Tampa Bay Lightning drafted Brayden Point in the 2014 NHL Draft. He was the 79th pick in the third round. Before being drafted into the NHL, he played for a Western Hockey League team, the Moose Jaw.
Point signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Lightning in March 2016. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 13 against the Detroit Red Wings and scored his first goal on Nov. 5 in a 4-1 win against the New Jersey Devils. He finished the season in the top 10 in rookie, scoring 40 points (18 goals, 22 assists) in 68 games.

In the 2017-18 NHL season, Point played all 82 games and had 32 goals, 34 assists, and 66 points finishing third on the Lightning. In 2018 he was named for the All-Star game. Brayden had his breakout season in 2018-2019 by scoring 41 goals, including 20 on the power play, and finishing with 92 points, third on the Lightning in each category.
In 2019-2020, Brayden scored 25 goals and 64 points. When Tampa made a run and won the Stanley Cup in 2020, Point had scored 14 goals and 33 points in 14 games to lead Tampa to victory against the Dallas Stars. Tampa Bay has won two back-to-back Stanley Cups 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.

His fantasy points for the 2022 season were 794.50 points he played all 82 games and scored 51 goals, 44 assists, and 30 PPP. In 2023, Point played 81 games and had 732.30 fantasy points, he scored 46 goals, 44 assists, and 32 PPP.
He is projected for the 2024 upcoming NHL season to have 771 fantasy points and rank on Yahoo! fantasy league 23rd. He averages over nine fantasy points a game. He is a top Center in all NHL fantasy leagues.
His shooting percentage in 2023-24 was notably high at 20.3 percent, trailing only Florida Panthers forward Sam Reinhart with 24.5 among players with over 120 shots. Still, Point’s shooting percentage was 21.7 in 2022-23, and his career average stands at 18.3, so fantasy managers should not be overly concerned about a potential regression.
He is tied with Matt Boldy for the 48th overall with 227. on fewer shots taken. But this minor setback should not hold Point back from making a fantasy roster in the early rounds of the draft. He is expected to be a highly valued fantasy player.
