Roope Hintz had a down year last season, with 30 goals, and 35 assists for 65 points in 80 games. He has an 8-year, $67,600,000 contract with the Dallas Stars, including a $12,000,000 signing bonus.

This included $67,600,000 guaranteed and an average annual salary of $8,450,000. In 2024-25, Hintz will earn a base salary of $8,250,000 and a signing bonus of $3,000,000, while carrying a cap hit of $8,450,000.

His numbers are all down from his 22-23 season, in which he had 37 goals, 38 assists, and 75 points in 73 games.

Roope Hintz is the Dallas Stars top-line center and they need him to bounce back to his 22-23 or even 21-22 numbers this upcoming season.

Roope Hintz was drafted 49th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Hintz was named to the Dallas Stars roster to start the 2018–19 NHL season. He played his first NHL game, but only after 5 games in the NHL, Hintz was re-assigned to the Texas Stars (AHL).

Hintz was sent down to the AHL three times and recalled multiple times that year, before staying in the NHL and helping Dallas make the playoffs via the wildcard round.

Roope Hintz ended up being a mainstay in the NHL the next season with his strong end to the 18-19 season. He put up career highs in goals, assists, and points up to that point through the shortened 20-21 season in just 41 games.

The following year, Hintz absolutely exploded putting up 37 goals, 35 assists with 72 points in 80 games.

On April 19th, 2023, Hintz recorded his first career postseason hat-trick in Game 2 of the Stars’ 7–3 win against the Minnesota Wild in the first-round series. He became only the fourth Stars player ever to score a hat-trick in the playoffs.

In the 2024 Playoffs, Hintz played 15 games and had 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points. The Stars fell to the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Finals.

Roope Hintz is expected to be on the 1st Powerplay unit, with Jamie Benn, Wyatt Johnston, Jason Robertson, and Miro Heiskanen.

Roope Hintz has been the top center for many years now in Dallas and even with worse numbers last year that surely won’t change. He and Jason Robertson have excellent chemistry which has led to both of to breaking out in respective years.
