Jack Eichel 2024-2025 Fantasy Outlook

Jack Eichel

Jack Eichel is coming off a very good season with the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Eichel put up 31 goals and 68 points in 63 games, over a point per game once again for Jack Eichel. Jack Eichel debuted with the Golden Knights on Feb. 16, 2022. He hadn’t played NHL hockey in over ten months, but he put up 25 points in 34 games as a Knight.

2023-24 was even better for Eichel, putting up 27 goals and 66 points in 67 games, just under a point per game. Eichel put up 26 points in 22 playoff games during Vegas’ run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2022-23; they defeated the Florida Panthers in 5 games to win their first-ever Stanley Cup as a franchise.

Revisiting the Eichel Sabres Trade

Jack Eichel was traded from the Buffalo Sabres because of a dispute over whether Eichel was permitted to undergo the surgery he wanted to repair a severe neck injury. The Sabres had no choice but to move him. On Nov. 4, 2021, they traded him to the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Knights got Jack Eichel a 2023 third-round pick (Mathieu Cataford), the Buffalo Sabres got Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs a 2022 first-round pick (Noah Östlund), and a 2023 second-round pick (Riley Heidt). Jack Eichel signed an 8-year, $80 million contract with the Buffalo Sabres, including a $15 million signing bonus, $80 million guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $10 million. In 2024-25, Eichel will earn a base salary of $10 million while carrying a cap hit of $10 million.

Alex Tuch has been amazing for the Buffalo Sabres; Tuch has produced 0.91 points per game, nearly matching Eichel’s 0.94 points per game with the Golden Knights; Tuch has played 160 games with 59 goals and 146 points, a very solid trade for both teams who are in different spots and were then as well.

Line 2: (LW) Pavel Dorofeyev – (C) Tomas Hertl – (RW) Mark Stone

Line 3: (LW) Brendan Brisson – (C) William Karlsson – (RW) Alexander Holtz

Line 4: Brett Howden – (C) Nicholas Roy – (RW) Keegan Kolesar

Jack Eichel is going to center the top line on Vegas, as he has most of his career so far; Victor Olofsson is a new member of the Golden Knights, coming over from the Buffalo Sabres as a free agent, so there’s chemistry there with Eichel and Olofsson. Jack Eichel is also expected to be on the top Power Play unit with Ivan Barbashev, Mark Stone, Tomas Hertl, and star Defenseman Noah Hanifin.
