Ben Sinnott 2024 Fantasy Outlook: High upside/low risk

Washington Commanders rookie Ben Sinnott is a 6-foot-4, 247 pound tight end from Kansas State. Drafted to the Commanders with 21st pick in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2024 NFL draft.

Can Ben Sinnott take the top spot on the depth chart or will it be another new arrival to the Commanders roster in Zach Ertz?

Fantasy Upside

Fox Sports shows that Ben Sinnott totaled 1,138 yards, and 10 touchdowns across three season at Kansas State. Not exactly astronomical numbers right? So why does he have great fantasy upside?

With a 4.68 second 40 yard dash time according  Bleacher Report,  he isn’t going to blow by guys off the line. But where can he excel? At 6-foo-4 he has the height you want to see in a tight end. Pair that with a 40″ vertical and you have a recipe for success in the red zone.

Washington’s tight ends totaled 16 targets in the red zone in 2023. Catching seven of those 16 targets for a 43.75% catch rate in the red zone.

Having rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels expect the Commanders to give Daniels every option possible. Both rookies have the potential to be great players at the professional level. With the two coming in together in the 2024 draft expect them to find some chemistry early.

Low Risk, High Reward?

Tight end can be one of the most important positions to get right in fantasy. Only a handful of tight ends are considered to be in the upper echelon; Travis Kelce, and Mark Andrews just to name a few.

Having Zach Ertz ahead of him on the depth chart isn’t ideal, until you look back at the past five seasons. Ertz has yet to play in more than 11 games in a season since 2019 with Philadelphia.

So how is Ben Sinnott a low risk pick for your fantasy roster? He has the size, ability, athleticism, and opportunity needed to be a viable fantasy option. Being the 18th ranked tight end on Sleeper, and the 30th ranked tight end on Yahoo. Sinnott is almost certain to be available at the back end of all drafts.

Final Thoughts

If available at the end of your draft, seriously consider stashing Ben Sinnott. In this offense he is going to have opportunities to show why the cream always rises to the top.
