Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Week 6

wide receiver

The NFL has wrapped up week 5 of the season, and more injuries have been added to the list this week. For instance, Houston Texans Wide Receiver Nico Collins is out with a hamstring injury. Collins suffered the injury against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. He recorded 2 receptions, 78 yards, and a touchdown before leaving the game. As the NFL season continues we’ll help with making roster adjustments in all league formats.

Week 6 Wide Receiver Waiver Wire

Jalen Tolbert, WR, (DAL)

Tolbert was a big factor in the Dallas Cowboys’ win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. Tolbert ran as many routes as star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb on Sunday. Tolbert will play more of an offensive role for the Cowboys since WR Brandin Cooks is now on IR due to a knee injury.

Tolbert had 10 targets, 7 receptions, 87 yards and a touchdown. Tolbert will be a great pick-up this week against a favorable matchup against the Detroit Lions, who have given up the 2nd most wide receiver fantasy points.

Josh Downs, WR, (IND)

QB Joe Flacco is the quarterback for the time for Indianapolis since QB Anthony Richardson left the game Sunday with an upper-body injury. Wide receiver Josh Downs has had a consistent few games for the Colts with 16 plus fantasy points the past few weeks. Downs is 34.9% rostered in all league formats, he will be a solid flex player in any fantasy team roster. Downs had 12 targets, 9 receptions, and 69 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

DeMario Douglas, WR, (NE)

The New England Patriots suffered another loss against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and are now 1-4 on the season. The Patriots are maybe looking into starting their rookie quarterback Drake Maye over Jacoby Brissett. It has not been a great start to the season for New England, head coach Jerod Mayo will have to make a decision going into next week.

Regardless of Mayo’s decision at quarterback, DeMario Douglas has been a favorable target for the Patriots. Douglas is 23.6% rostered in most formats and would be a good addition to a fantasy roster. Douglas had nine targets, six receptions, and 59 yards against the Dolphins and ended up with 11.9 fantasy points.

Final Thoughts

These top three wide receivers would be a good addition to any fantasy team roster this week and in the few weeks to come with all the injuries that are piling up around the NFL. Not only do fantasy team owners need to adjust their star players on the sidelines, but so do the teams suffering without them.

It would be a good time to stack a few of these receivers now and not wait till half of the NFL season is left to play. Improving your bench through the waiver wire will help during the bye weeks especially. It’s getting to be slim picking out there for not only wide receivers but quarterbacks, running backs, and tight ends all around the league.
