Week 13 is here, and this week has the much-anticipated Thanksgiving slate, which I covered in a separate piece earlier in the week. Plus, the best game of the week features the Eagles vs. Ravens in Baltimore on CBS at 4:25. We finally get a Jalen Hurts vs. Lamar Jackson game, as this will be the first-ever meeting. The rest of the DFS slate is interesting regarding the quarterback position. Here are my picks for the rest of the quarterback DFS slate for Week 13.
Quarterback Must Starts for Week 13
Jalen Hurts ($7,700 Draft Kings, $9,200 FanDuel)
Hurts is facing one of the worst passing defenses this weekend in Baltimore, and most likely will have to throw the ball a little more due to the good run defense in Baltimore. I think that Jalen will have a huge day in the air in Baltimore this weekend especially getting the ball to AJ Brown and Devonta Smith (If Smith plays). Looking forward to seeing what happens this weekend in Baltimore with Hurts.
Lamar Jackson ($8,000 Draft Kings, $8,700 FanDuel)
I’m still starting Lamar this weekend even though as an Eagles fan I believe in this defense’s ability to stop this Ravens offense. But Lamar Jackson is currently having an MVP-type season at this point and has been one of the most consistent quarterback options in fantasy football. So still start Lamar Jackson this weekend in your DFS lineups.
Josh Allen ($7,800 Draft Kings, $9,000 FanDuel)
Josh Allen is performing at the highest level of his career up to this point and the San Francisco 49ers are dealing with a lot of injuries at the moment right now. With those things in mind, the current leader in the clubhouse for the MVP award will have a strong performance on Sunday Night Football this week and will make you some money in DFS.
Quarterback Must Sits for Week 13
On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in Week 13.
Jameis Winston ($5,700 Draft Kings, $7,200 FanDuel)
This Denver Broncos secondary is one of those talented secondaries that you know will show up and show out consistently. With this in mind, Jameis Winston will probably throw at least 2 interceptions on Monday Night Football because he will be aggressive down the field. The former Florida State quarterback will have one of those games reminiscent of his Tampa Bay days.
Jayden Daniels ($7,200 Draft Kings, $8,800 FanDuel)
This Titans defense will create a lot of issues for Jayden Daniels especially if the defensive line can control the game as they did against the Texans last week. This Week 13 matchup on paper should favor the Commanders but the fact is that this Tennessee defense will cause the rookie some issues like Philly and Pittsburgh did in those two meetings. Avoid Daniels this week in DFS.
Will Levis ($5,000 Draft Kings, $6,700 FanDuel )
I pointed out in the last paragraph that Tennessee will create a lot of problems for Daniels, but Tennessee won’t win the game because of the inconsistent play of Will Levis. Other than a few splash plays that Levis has made this season there’s no doubt that Levis has been the worst quarterback in the league this season. Continue to sit Levis at all times in DFS.
Lock of Week 13
Anthony Richardson ($5,500 Draft Kings, $7,800 FanDuel )
The Patriots’ defense creates a lot of opportunities for offenses as Matthew Stafford had his best game of the season against New England a couple of weeks ago. I think that AR will continue the success that he’s been having since he was inserted back into the starting role after a two-game benching. I love Anthony Richardson this weekend because of the matchup mainly and the fact his budget for a mobile quarterback option in DFS when compared to Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, and Jayden Daniels.
Fade of Week 13
Brandon Allen ($5,200 Draft Kings, $6,500 FanDuel)
If Brock Purdy ($6,200 Draft Kings, $8,100 FanDuel) somehow plays, I’m still fading him as this spot is for the 49ers quarterback regardless of who plays the position in Buffalo. This Buffalo defense has been opportunistic all season and the fact that the injuries that San Francisco has to their team overall scares me personally to recommend one of those quarterbacks to play in DFS in Week 13.
Sleeper of Week 13
Bo Nix ($6,300 Draft Kings, $8,200 FanDuel)
Bo Nix is having a heater as of late as he is slowly making his way into the Offensive Rookie of the Year race with Daniels. Nix is also coming into the game with a back issue, but it could be just a maintenance thing with him. The only reason he’s still a sleeper for this week is because of the potential of that Cleveland Browns defense stepping up like they did against the Steelers last week in the snow.
Conclusion
Week 13 of the NFL season will determine a lot of things in terms of the playoff races starting to finally shape and solidify. These picks I have made will be part of the success and tribulations of the season up to this point. Week 13 will have some pivotal games and decisions on the field and Total Apex Fantasy is here to help you make money with the rest of the positions and DFS game slates.
