Total Apex’s NBA Fantasy Recap for the Week of November 18, 2024

mavericks nba

Last week in the NBA was filled with close games and surprising results, including the Cleveland Cavaliers’ first loss of the season to the Boston Celtics. The Fantasy landscape for the NBA was also interesting with huge performances and a big star injured last week in the Western Conference. Let’s dive into the actual fantasy recap for the week in the NBA from last week with these three huge storylines from the week before Thanksgiving.

Luka Doncic’s injury

Mavericks star Luka Doncic had a wrist injury that has put him out for a least a week and that has impacted Doncic’s owners. It has created a door for Kyrie Irving to lead the Mavericks team in fantasy production for the time being. Doncic has been his normal productive self before the injury worthy of his ADP of Top 3. Luka was averaging 53.3 fantasy points per game this season before the setback with a wrist injury which is PHENOMENAL. Luka’s injury is the latest of the huge stars to suffer injuries this season including Chet Holmgren, Kevin Durant, Zion Williamson, and Ja Morant.

It’ll be interesting to see if he returns at the end of the week this week as the Mavericks think it is only going to be a short-term injury for him. Luka’s Owners are hopeful that he will return on Saturday this week.

Franz Wagner Has ARRIVED

The Orlando Magic’s Franz Wagner has arrived this season ever since Paolo Banchero’s injury but last week was his best week of the season to this point. Wagner had three fifty-point fantasy points games last weekend including a huge 71.0 fantasy point performance against the Lakers that included his game-winning shot to give the Magic the win. That game for Wanger included 37 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists, and 4 steals which was IMPACTFUL.

I love Wagner for the rest of the year in fantasy especially if Paolo is slow coming back into the fold after he gets back onto the court. Wagner owners will continue to have a good time with their performances, especially in this short week for the NBA upcoming because of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

THE KINGS TRIO is still Rolling

The Kings trio of De’Aaron Fox, Demontas Sabonis, and DeMar DeRozan have been amazing this season. Especially if you somehow have that stack as a fantasy owner right now you are enjoying huge success in the redraft format. Fox and Sabonis are both averaging over 45 fantasy points per game, and DeMar DeRozan is averaging 37.1 fantasy points per game right now. Every time the Kings play those guys alone are producing over 120 fantasy points themselves on average which is a PROBLEM for fantasy opponents this season up to this point.

The Kings’ offense has always been efficient under Mike Brown but this year it has finally transferred to consistent fantasy production, especially for Fox. It’s exciting to see these things happening as a fan of the NBA and the Kings are finally clicking once again.

Final Thoughts

The NBA last week shows that the league has been full of parody and it will be an unpredictable ride to the end of the season. Meaning that the fantasy season in the NBA will be full of eves and flows and will be a roller coaster ride throughout the season. Total Apex is the place to be for the recap and more fantasy advice throughout the NBA season as well as the rest of the NFL season as well. I’m looking forward to continuing to help people with fantasy advice and the recaps of the NBA fantasy weeks going forward.
