This has been a busy week in the NBA, as 18 teams out of 30 had three games. But the other 12 teams will have played four times. Yet, many fantasy managers often get into a dilemma on which player they should start or sit. In this post, we discuss top payers to consider as starting and sitting in your league.
Centers
Start ‘Em
Precious Achiuwa, New York Nicks (77% Ros, 59% Start)
Achiuwa’s next opponents include the Detroit Pistons, New Orleans Pelican, Golden State Warriors, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Achiuwa is currently in good form despite having suffered many injuries in the nursing field in the recent past. Julius Randle and OG Anunoby have injuries, while Isaiah Hartenstein recently returned to the starting lineups.
Randle and Anunoby won’t resume playing next week, hence giving Achiuwa a chance to play for more than 35 minutes per game. Achiuwa will start in next week’s four games and might maintain his production.
Sit ‘Em
Walker Kessler, Utah Jazz (82% Ros, 37% Start)
Kessler will play for Jazz’s upcoming games against the Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic, and Miami Heat. Kessler is back on the bench as we head to the All-Star break despite returning to the starting lineup recently.
The forward played for 17 and 19 minutes in his last two games. Kessler got an average of two blocks, four rebounds, and scored six points. Fantasy managers might have to exclude him from their lineups unless he increases his starting minutes.
Fantasy Managers Guards Picks
Start ‘Em
Jordan Goodwin, Memphis Grizzlies (5% Ros, 2% Start)
Goodwin is likely to start in the Grizzlies’ upcoming games against the Brooklyn Nets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Portland Trail Blazers. The Grizzlies added him to their starting lineup against the Milwaukee Bucks, and he played for 29 minutes.
Even so, Goodwin missed the Grizzlies’ game against the LA Clippers. Surprisingly, the team signed Goodwin on another 10-day contract. This shows that they keenly monitor his performance before they make a long-term commitment to him. Moreover, Goodwin is known to make steals and assists.
Start ‘Em
Tre Mann, Charlotte Hornets (61% Ros, 34% Start)
Mann’s next opponents include the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, and Toronto Raptors. The player has performed well since he joined the Hornets. Mann’s performance has dropped of late as he has an average of 11.7 points, 1.8 3-pointers, 1.7 steals, 5.2 assists, and 5.5 rebounds.
LaMelo Ball returned to the Hornets’s lineup a few days ago, and this might have affected Mann’s performance. Still, he deserves a spot in the starting lineup, as he has played in four games this week and is a great selection for fantasy managers.
Sit ‘Em
Keyonte George, Utah Jazz (74% Ros, 34% Start)
George will continue starting for the Jazz in their next games against Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic, and Miami Heat. He hasn’t been consistent though despite playing for 32.9 minutes per game on average, in the last two weeks. George has an average of 12.8 points, 1.2 steals, and 5.6 assists per game. His three-game slate shows that he performed dismally in some games, thus making him unsuitable for your roster.
