Top 5 Fantasy Quarterbacks for 2025: Pre-NFL Draft

quarterback

The quarterback position in fantasy football has been one of the most interesting positions over these last five seasons, and it now has even more potential with the emergence of Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, with probably the best rookie season in a long time last season. This season, the quarterback position will be a mixture of seven solid options in fantasy, but I have to get the list down to five. So here is my top five quarterbacks before the NFL Draft.

1. Josh Allen

Josh Allen has been the quarterback 1 or 2 in fantasy the last three years with his arm talent and great mobility at the position. He is coming off winning his first career MVP award last season with slightly fewer numbers, but the impact he has at the position is going to keep him as an interesting option as the first quarterback off the board in redraft leagues. Allen is the quarterback who most people are going to pick as the number one guy at the position because of the eye test. But I feel this next guy is just as good as Allen and easily can get to the number one spot.

2. Lamar Jackson

Lamar “Action” Jackson always brings enough action to the table with his improved arm and his electric mobility. He had an argument to win back-to-back MVP trophies, but the voters voted for Allen last season. Lamar is one of those quarterbacks who will always deliver in fantasy football because he’s one of the best regular-season quarterbacks in the NFL today.

With the addition of DeAndre Hopkins to that wide receiver room for the Ravens, that should boost Jackson’s numbers even more in the passing game this season, and he already had great passing numbers last season. I could easily see Lamar having at least 37 passing touchdowns next season if he wants it.

3. Jalen Hurts

The reigning Super Bowl MVP, Jalen Hurts, is going to have another great fantasy season at the position as the offense is returning 10 of the 11 starters, most likely unless Howie moves on from Dallas Goedert. Hurts is one of those guys who is tough to judge in fantasy if he doesn’t get the rushing production, but I feel that Hurts is going to be motivated to win games and will do anything needed to do that next season. Especially, with the quest of the Super Bowl repeat on his mind.

Yes, I know about the potential ban on the Tush Push. Even though I think a potential ban is silly, it could happen. But Jalen Hurts will still get great rushing production without the tush push. Just look at the long run against the Rams in the Divisional Round last season. So, draft Hurts in the mid-rounds this year as the third quarterback off the board, and you’ll have success in fantasy once again.

4. Jayden Daniels

I have Daniels in the fourth spot of the quarterback rankings pre-NFL Draft because even with the addition of Deebo Samuel, the potential of a sophomore slump is going to be there; just look at CJ Stroud. I think Daniels is not going to have as bad of a slump, but the overwhelming potential of the sophomore slump is holding me back from having him in the Top 3 as of right now.

As an Eagles fan, I do acknowledge that Daniels is going to be a pain in my behind for years to come because of his ability and his poise at the position, which should make for fun, competitive games between Hurts and Daniels for those years. This is going to be an interesting year in the NFC East between the Eagles and Commanders because of these two quarterbacks.

5. Joe Burrow

The league’s leading passer last season is going to have another huge, Top 5 worthy fantasy season once again as he has Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins back for the foreseeable future. I think Burrow is going to be the best value of the five guys I have on this list because most people look at the more mobile quarterbacks first and foremost for fantasy nowadays. I love Burrow as that pure pocket-passer type in fantasy a lot this season, and I expect him to end up as one of the top five options by the end of the season.

Conclusion

Honorable Mentions go to Patrick Mahomes and Stroud, as I think they could have bounce-back seasons, at least fantasy-wise, to get into the top ten but not solid enough to get into the Top 5 quarterbacks list. The quarterback position is the most important in the game of football, and this year is one of these guys is going to make your fantasy team a winner this season.
