Next weekend at Bristol should be a great one as we go to one of the most historic and action-packed tracks! But which drivers will be fastest at Bristol?
That’s why today I looked at the drivers with the best average finish at the world’s fastest half mile! Like I did with F1 last weekend.
Ty Gibbs kicks off our Bristol picks at No. 5
The young driver has struggled to begin the year, but signs are showing his struggle session is over soon. He finished 9th for a top 10 last week at Darlington, plus he has the 10th best average among active drivers here. You remember how a year ago at the same race he had his career performance, and he’s no brain pick next Sunday.
The newest RFK driver, Ryan Preece, is my 4th Pick
This man could win this race and is my favorite for this week. He’s the 6th best driver in the Cup Series in terms of average finish at the Tennessee short track. Considering he’s only been on mid-tier, lower-budgeted teams his whole cup career till this year, it’s extremely impressive. Add the fact that 1 of his two Xfinity Series wins is here, and I’m sure you all see why he’s a lock this week.
Christopher Bell is my No.3 Pick
Now we’re getting into the drivers everyone knows are great at the world’s fastest half mile. I’m actually shocked he hasn’t won here yet, but with finishes of a pole here and four top tens plus three top five finishes in his last four starts here. It’s really easy to see why Bell is an easy pick for this upcoming week.
Kyle Larson: The fastest man ever to have the #5 in NASCAR as my 2nd Pick
The 2021 Cup Series champion is fast at many tracks, and no surprise, Bristol is one of them. Larson here has two wins, seven top fives, and 12 top tens in 17 starts here, including the most dominant win in Hendrick Motorsports history. With only one DNF, it’s rare for Larson to be this consistent at a track. So you have to pick the Cali man for this week!
The Top Pick has to be Denny Hamlin for Bristol
The veteran is a short-track king, and Bristol has not escaped his grasp either. Not only has he had four wins here, but he’s won two out of the last three races at this very track, and with his 2-race win streak and his teammate Bell already having three straight wins this season, it’s safe to say Hamlin will be the next JGR driver to 3-peat.
