The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to regain home-court advantage and tie the series at 2-2 after the Minnesota Timberwolves took home Game 3 116-104 on Friday Night. The Lakers had a lackluster performance on the road as Luka struggled on Friday night.
The Timberwolves had another strong performance from Anthony Edwards in DFS on Friday, and Jaden McDaniels shined with his 30 points and five rebounds on the night! This game on Sunday Afternoon is going to be an interesting game for the DFS slate, so here are my picks for DFS from this game.
Lock of the Game
Anthony Edwards
Minnesota Timberwolves
VS
Los Angeles Lakers
DraftKings: $8,900, FanDuel: $9,400
Anthony Edwards is one of those elite players in these playoffs who has been going of in DFS throughout this first round thus far, as in both of Minnesota’s wins in the Playoffs, Edwards has had 49 and 58.5 fantasy points on Draft Kings, and that 58.5 was in Game 3 with a performance of 29 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, two steals and a block.
I have a strong feeling that Edwards is going to have another strong performance once again for the Timberwolves in a game that can essentially give them all of the momentum to win the series. I love Edwards in this spot as the Lock of the Game for this particular matchup.
Start ‘Em
Jaden McDaniels
Minnesota Timberwolves
VS
Los Angeles Lakers
DraftKings: 5,400, FanDuel: 5,800
Jaden McDaniels had 42.5 fantasy points on FanDuel on Friday and had 41.8 fantasy points on the same platform in Game 1. These fantasy numbers from McDaniels show that the Timberwolves have been winning in this postseason thus far, and Jaden McDaniels is having great performances.
I like that trend to continue for McDaniels as long as Doncic is guarding McDaniels in this series, because McDaniels will continue to look aggressive for the Timberwolves. I like McDaniels to have another strong performance once again, and another duo postgame interview with Edwards and McDaniels together.
Austin Reaves
Los Angeles Lakers
AT
Minnesota Timberwolves
DraftKings: $6,700, FanDuel: $6,800
Austin Reaves has been a solid player for the Lakers in these three games, as he’s had 22.1, 28.5, and 33.4 fantasy points in the three games on FanDuel thus far.
I think if Reaves continues to get confidence, he’ll have a great opportunity to have success in this series for the rest of the series during the long haul and the Lakers will need him to have success if they want to get things turn around in this series, and I think that starts in Game 4 on Sunday.
Sit ‘Em
Rui Hachimura
Los Angeles Lakers
AT
Minnesota Timberwolves
DraftKings: $4,800, FanDuel: $4,700
Hachimura has been lackluster in this series at best, as there was a viral moment during a JJ Reddick timeout that was caused by him seemingly being confused about what play they were running.
Also, when you look at the fantasy numbers that Hacimura has put up, they are a little lackluster as he has had 17, 24, and 18.8 fantasy points in the three games on FanDuel. I think Rui is probably going to have at most 19 Fantasy points on Sunday; he might hit that 20-point threshold, but it’s unlikely.
Mike Conley
Minnesota Timberwolves
VS
Los Angeles Lakers
DraftKings: $3,700, FanDuel: $4,200
Conley, at this point, is not going to have a lot of production in fantasy, and he doesn’t necessarily need to for the Timberwolves to win games. As in the two wins he’s had, 25.1 Fantasy points in Game 1, and 21.6 Fantasy points in Game 3, which is sneaky production, but I think he will be below his average on the season in Game 4, as I see him struggling in this game for Minnesota in this Game 4 where he will be slightly below his average of 20.77 Fantasy points.
Fade of the Game
Jaxson Hayes
Los Angeles Lakers
AT
Minnesota Timberwolves
DraftKings: $3,700, FanDuel: $3,600
This is the easiest fade of the game I have ever written for this website in my time here, as Jaxon Hayes has had no minutes at all as pretty the only viable big on the Lakers, which says a lot about his particular skill set as a player overall. JJ Redick does still have faith in Hayes, however, DFS players SHOULD NOT AT ALL. Hayes won’t be anything of meaning to your hopes of making MONEY on the app you’re playing on. So SIT HAYES AT ALL COST!
The Lakers have a good chance of winning this game; however, this Minnesota Timberwolves team presents a tough matchup for the Lakers, as we have seen through the first three games of the series, as Anthony Edwards has something to prove in these playoffs for the Timberwolves after a disappointing Conference Finals last year against Dallas.
I look for Minnesota to control this series on Sunday. Total Apex Bets and Fantasy is the place to be for more NBA DFS throughout the playoffs.
