Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Memphis Grizzles DFS January 20, 2025

The Minnesota Timberwolves look for a statement win on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the road against the Memphis Grizzles. Something to keep an eye on is the health of Ja Morant in this one. He had an injury that held him out of the last game against the Spurs with a foot injury, he is probable to play as of typing this slate. Are you ready to make some money with these picks on MLK Day? Here we GO!

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Jaren Jackson Jr. ($8,600 Draft Kings; $8,300 FanDuel)

Jaren Jackson Jr. has been effective for the most part these last few games in terms of actual and fantasy production. He is coming off a 30.5 fantasy point game against the Spurs and with the probable return of Morant to the lineup in this game, that should help Jackson Jr.’s production in this game. Morant makes things easier for the rest of his teammates.

Ja Morant ($8,400 Draft Kings; $8,600 FanDuel)

As I mentioned in the intro, Ja Morant is probable for the game against the Timberwolves coming off the foot injury. Morant has been great this season when he’s been in the lineup especially the last two games he has played in. He had over 45 fantasy points in each of those games. Look for Morant to have another huge day on MLK Day is probably the best matchup of the day with these Timberwolves.

Timberwolves vs. Grizzles DFS Sit ‘Ems

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Julius Randle ($7,500 Draft Kings, $7,300 FanDuel)

I’m sitting Randle in this matchup because the length of Jaren Jackson Jr, Zach Edey, and Santi Aldama will neutralize Randle’s game. This is especially the case if he continues to not space the floor and clog the paint in this game. I predict that Randle will have a 28 fantasy point day, which is a sit with his budget.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Anthony Edwards ($9,100 Draft Kings; $9,300 Fanduel)

Edwards has the potential to take over because we have seen it in the playoffs over the last couple of seasons. But he has been a disappointing fantasy player these last couple of seasons, including so far this season. However, Edwards will turn it on now, with Minnesota in a questionable spot in the playoff standings as they are currently in they are currently in the 8th seed and the play-in.

Edwards better turn it on if they want to be where they want to be in May and June. That should start on MLK Day against the Grizzles, as even though Desmond Bane is a great defender, Ant-Man has had success against the Grizzles in the past.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Rudy Gobert ($5,400 Draft Kings; $6,300 FanDuel )

Gobert is questionable with an ankle sprain for this game, but even if he plays, he’s not an effective fantasy player anymore for the Timberwolves. This is due to his inconsistent defense not hiding the offensive deficiencies that have been with him throughout his entire career. Avoid Gobert at all costs in any type of fantasy relevance.

Conclusion

The Timberwolves and Grizzles should come down to the wire in this game, but the Morant News favors the Grizzles as they look to improve their playoff positioning. In DFS I love Edwards, Morant, and Jackson Jr., especially Edwards to find his attack zone.
