Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Milwaukee Bucks DFS Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em| April 8, 2025

The 46-32 Minnesota Timberwolves travel to Milwaukee to take on the 44-34 Bucks as both are fighting for NBA playoff seeding. Minnesota is the 7th seed in the West and is slated to play the Memphis Grizzlies, tied with the same record but coming off back-to-back wins.

Milwaukee is sitting pretty in the first round, projected to play the 47-31 Indiana Pacers, who just beat the 47-32 Denver Nuggets the other night. Here are a few players to start and sit for this great matchup against the Timberwolves and Bucks.

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Rudy Gobert, C ($6.6K DraftKings)

The reigning veteran defensive player last year has been solid yet again for the Timberwolves, as Rudy Gobert has been steady in fantasy points with over 39 over the past seven games. This might be bigs on bigs as great starts, as his teammate at center/ power forward isn’t a bad play as well, along with the Bucks veteran center, who both have cost-friendly salaries for this game.

If you want to pay up for more position versatility, Julius Randle at power forward and center at $7.4K on DraftKings isn’t a bad start. Randle does have a tough matchup, as Milwaukee is second against his positions. Another sneaky start is Naz Reid (PF/C) at $5.2K, who did have a 22-point game back in February against this Bucks team.

Brook Lopez, C ($6.4K DraftKings)

It is slightly riskier with a tougher matchup with Minnesota, who are 6th against the position, but Brook Lopez is a bit cheaper than both Timberwolves starting centers. The veteran center in Milwaukee is not a bad alternative. Lopez has had over 25 fantasy points in the past four games.

Another potential start for the Bucks is point guard Kevin Porter Jr. at $4.8K on DraftKings, as he has taken the start for Damian Lilliard out and over Ryan Rollins, who hasn’t been great as of late. Besides Porter Jr. and his solid consistency, small forward Gary Trent Jr. for the Bucks is coming off a heater and playing a season high in minutes. While it could be a fluke, he still could be involved even with Giannis back.

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Kyle Kuzma, SF/PF ($6.8K DraftKings)

Although he has had good games, Kyle Kuzma is going against a tougher defense, who is 8th against his position in Minnesota. He has been on a downturn from his 20 point games and hasn’t been as consistent of late. Kuzma may not have the highest ceiling compared to salary compared to other players on his same team in Milwaukee.

Another player who has disappointed as of late is Taurean Prince at shooting guard, who also hasn’t been too big of a factor to consider putting in lineups despite his $4.1K cost on DraftKings for the Bucks.

Jaden McDaniels, SF/PF ($5.3K DraftKings)

Jaden McDaniels does have a good matchup (22nd ranked) and a decent salary, but he is coming off an 8.8 fantasy point dud with his minutes shrunk. It will be hard to trust despite his history of occasional 20-pointers but Reid is a better pick to have one of those games compared to McDaniels.

Even though their salaries are cheap, I don’t think point guard Mike Conley ($3.8K DraftKings) and shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo ($4.7K DraftKings) are worth chasing, with their involvement being pretty minimal and inconsistent overall for Minnesota.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Anthony Edwards, SG ($9.4K DraftKings)

The Timberwolves shooting guard has been on fire and too hot to fade, as he has had over 40 fantasy points in the last four games. Anthony Edwards has also had over 20 points on the floor in the last five games, so his floor is still high and worth spending up for him. He is clearly the safest player in this game, with an equally high ceiling. Plus, he is cheaper than Giannis if we are comparing which star to start in this matchup with the Timberwolves and Bucks.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, PF/C ($12.6 DraftKings)

The only reason you would even think about fading a great player like Giannis is due to injury and the potential of fewer minutes and his cost. Antetokounmpo is listed as probable coming off a shoulder injury, but with that salary, I would play the Ant-Man over the Greek God himself. You could still start him, but you would take a hit at the other positions in your lineup when there is potential value coming from this game. The Timberwolves are tough defensively, ranked 8th against his position.
