Week 9 showed the depth of the tight end position as the majority of players who delivered that week were many unknown players to fantasy owners. Week 10 on the other hand was the opposite, as it was the more well-known players who dominated this past week. Most of the unknown players came down to earth while the stars showed why they were. What these last two weeks should tell fantasy owners is that you truly don’t know what to expect from tight ends every week, which makes waiver wire a tough job to figure out who can produce.
Top Three Tight End Pickups for Week 11
Texans Tight End Dalton Schultz
The Texans seem like a mess at the moment. They have gone from people believing that they are the Chief’s toughest team to beat to get to the Super Bowl and now they are being called frauds. What has caused that is the amount of injuries to the Texan’s receiving core. Nico Collins is coming back but teams will certainly double-team him and make some other pass catchers have to beat teams. Schultz needs to be a part of that.
C.J. Stroud has been very loose in the pocket which is causing some major issues for the offense. Stroud needs easy completions on timing routes and the guy who can provide that for Houston is Schultz.
Bills Tight End Dawson Knox
This pick for Week 11 is squarely based on injury. The Bills starting tight end Dalton Kincaid suffered a knee injury in the week 10 victory over the Colts. This is a strategic waiver wire pickup that is more of a long-term pickup than a short-term one. Knee injuries can be risky but if Kincaid suffers an injury that takes him out of multiple games, you will be happy to have Knox stashed on your bench when he becomes Josh Allen’s number one tight end option.
Knox’s best game this year is an eight-point game but if Kincaid is not in the lineup, that would turn into a double-digit performance. The Bills are banged up at both receiver and tight end which sooner rather than later will open up Knox.
Chargers Tight End Will Dissly
The Chargers tight end is still unbelievably still available in the majority of the fantasy leagues. Dissly is clearly the number one tight-end option for Justin Herbert which is very valuable in fantasy. The reason why things haven’t taken off lately is the Chargers schedule. Los Angeles has played some bad teams as of late, which means they are leading in these games and that also means they run the ball in those situations.
With an absolutely brutal schedule upcoming, the Chargers will inevitability be down which means they will be forced to throw the ball more and Dissly is their biggest target. Things will turn around for Dissly when the Chargers are pressed to throw the ball more.
