It’s hard to find a matchup of further opposites than the Bears and the Texans. Houston boasts one of the best offenses in the league, and given the way they played Tennessee, it looks like Chicago will boast one of the best defenses. Since it’s such a unique matchup, though, both teams will have different game plans going into Sunday night. Some players who performed well in Week 1 might not match their performance in Week 2.
Chicago Bears at Houston Texans Start Em’
Dalton Shultz (Draft Kings Price $ 4.6k, Fan Duel Price $ 5.5k)
One of the strengths of Chicago’s defense is their secondary, as shown by their two interceptions last week against Tennessee. Therefore, C.J. Stroud might want to target Shultz in the Red Zone. He won’t catch the same coverage that Diggs and Collins will likely get, and Shultz has good enough hands to grab a touchdown or two.
Nico Collins (Draft Kings Price $ 7k, Fan Duel Price $7.6k)
Most of the buzz coming from Houston is about Stefon Diggs’ two-touchdown game against the Colts. Fans might be forgetting that, technically, Collins had the better game (117 yards off of 6 catches). Diggs will be covered by Jaylon Johnson, who might be emerging as a strong corner in the league, which means Collins might be open more often than Diggs is.
Keenan Allen (Draft Kings Price $ 6.4k, Fan Duel Price $ 6.5k)
There is little to be happy about concerning the Bears’ offense after that game versus the Titans. Now is not the time to press the panic button on Allen, though, who got more targets than D.J. Moore in Week 1. As Caleb Williams gets more used to the offense, so will his relationship will Allen grow, which will lead to more catches and more touchdowns.
Chicago Bears at Houston Texans Sit Em’
D’Andre Swift (Draft Kings Price $ 5.8k, Fan Duel Price $ 6.8k)
It’s pretty safe to assume that D’Andre Swift will have better days than his 30 yards off 10 carries in Week 1. Swift probably won’t get his numbers against the Texans, though. Chicago will likely be playing from behind most of the game, which isn’t a good game script for Swift. He will be a better pick later in the season.
Stefon Diggs (Draft Kings Price $ 6.8k, Fan Duel Price $ 7.5k)
Yes, it’s true that Diggs scored two touchdowns against the Colts, but only off of 33 yards. He basically was a strong Red Zone target for Stroud, but that might not be the case with Jaylen Johnson covering him most of the game. This might be one of the games this season where Diggs just won’t get lots of production, and don’t be surprised if he comes back with a big game the next week.
Joe Mixon (Draft Kings Price $7.1, Fan Duel Price $8.1 k)
Mixon had one of the best performances of Week 1, but that doesn’t make him a lock for Week 2. The Bears have a great run offense, which might lead the Texans to throw to win. With three premiere wide receivers, they don’t have to run the ball unless necessary.
Chicago Bears at Houston Texans Lock
C.J. Stroud (Draft Kings Price $ 7.3k, Fan Duel Price $ 8.2k)
Despite how promising the Chicago Defense is, Stroud is still a lock for almost every game he is playing. The Bears have a very potent run defense, so Houston might not be keeping the ball on the ground too much. Look for lots of pass attempts from Stroud, who has a ton of weapons to choose from.
Chicago Bears at Houston Texans Fade
Caleb Williams (Draft Kings Price $ 5.8k, Fan Duel $ 6.9k)
Now is not a great time to be picking up Caleb Williams. This isn’t to say that he never will have a good game: he will likely increase his production tenfold throughout the season. The issue with playing Williams this week in a losing matchup is that there are plenty of other QBs out there for the short term. Cheap alternatives at quarterback would be guys like Baker Mayfield or Derek Carr.
