Houston Texans at New England Patriots DFS Start Em’ Sit Em| October 13

Lots of storylines are going into the Texans’ next matchup against the New England Patriots. The Texans will be missing Nico Collins, Drake Maye will make his debut, etc. In terms of DFS, players are going to have to be very picky when choosing players from this game. This is a matchup of two good defenses, and not every skill player is guaranteed to have a good day here.

New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (Darft Kings Price 6.1K, FanDuel Price 6.8K)

While the Texans have shown they’re an excellent pass defense, they are a little prone to the run game. They’ve given up big games to Aaron Jones, James Cook, and even Tank Bigsby of the Jacksonville Jaguars. After a couple of shaky starts, Stevenson looks to be back to his old ways, rushing for 89 yards and a TD against the Dolphins. Provided his leg doesn’t keep him off the field, he is a good pick-up for this game.

New England Patriots TE Hunter Henry (Draft Kings Price 3.8K, FanDuel 5K)

There are a couple of reasons why Hunter Henry is poised to have a big game here. The first is that, with the young receiving core that the Patriots have, Henry might be Maye’s most reliable option. Second, the Pats should know how good the Texan’s secondary is, so it might be wise to target a tight end over wide receivers.

Houston Texans WR Tank Dell (Draft Kings Price 6.2K, FanDuel Price 6.7K)

It hasn’t been the best season for Tank Dell, but in fairness that has nothing to do with his talent and everything to do with his teammates: he has to compete for targets with Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs. Now that Collins is out, though, expect C.J. Stroud to call Dell’s number plenty in this game.

Houston Texans at New England Patriots Sit Em’

New England Patriots WR Ja’lynn Polk (Draft Kings Price 3.6K, FanDuel Price 4.7K)

Now with Drake Maye at the helm, Polk might be set up to have some good games down the stretch. This simply isn’t a good matchup for him. The Texans are notorious for holding wide receivers to low numbers this season, and it is Maye’s first start. The Maye-Polk connection will probably need time to grow.

New England Patriots QB Drake Maye (Draft Kings Price 5K, FanDuel Price 6K)

When considering playing Drake Maye in this game, it’s important to remember what the Texans just did to Josh Allen. He is arguably the best quarterback in the league, and he only completed nine of his passes. If anything, anybody who has faith in Drake Maye might want to hope he has a bad game against the Texans, so that they can pick him up cheaper in the following weeks (Jacksonville is the Pat’s next opponent).

Houston Texans RB Dare Ogunbowale (Draft Kings Price 4.8K, FanDuel Price 5.4K)

Ogunbowale has seen a large amount of work with the other running backs for the Texans being injured. It’s very likely that Dameon Pierce will finally come back from his hamstring injury against the Pats, though. That means that Pierce and Cam Akers would share the bulk of the carries, and Ogunbowale would see the ball less.

Houston Texans WR Stefon Diggs (Draft Kings Price 7.4K, FanDuel Price 8K)

With Nico Collins injured, this is the best time to buy for Stefon Diggs. The only concern would be that New England cornerback Christian Gonzales might make things tough for Diggs, but he is still going to get his targets and probably turn them into large gains and touchdowns.

Houston Texans at New England Patriots Fade

Houston Texans RB Cam Akers (Draft Kings Price 4.9K, FanDuel Price 5.8K)

Anyone who picked up Cam Akers for last week probably got the best production out of him, as he got into the endzone against the Bills. Now that Dameon Pierce is likely returning, though, Akers will have less opportunity to score touchdowns. He also hasn’t rushed for over 60 yards this entire season, a record he probably won’t break against a stout New England defense.
