Texans at Jaguars Start Em’ Sit Em’ Week 13 DFS

Both the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to bounce back after tough losses. It appears as though Jacksonville might be getting Trevor Lawrence back, which would certainly boost the Jaguars’ offensive numbers. The Texans will look to right the ship after a tough loss to Tennessee. Either way, there should be some interesting DFS plays to look out for here.

Joe Mixon (Draft Kings Price 8K, FanDuel Price 9.5 K)

Every great player is liable to have a bad game or two. Rest assured that Week 12 against Tennessee was that bad game for Joe Mixon. He was only able to scratch out 22 yards and missed the endzone for the first time since his injury against the Bears. The likelihood of a poor game like that happening twice for one of the league’s best running backs is incredibly unlikely. Mixon should be getting things going again in this game.

Brian Thomas Jr. (Draft Kings Price 5.5K, FanDuel Price 6.7K)

The last time the Jaguars faced off against the Texans, Thomas Jr. had a great day: 86 yards and a touchdown. His production went down for the last three weeks, but that has more to do with Mac Jones throwing him the ball as opposed to Trevor Lawrence. Considering the Tennessee game, the Texans’ defense is susceptible to the long ball, and if Lawrence wants to go long, he will probably look toward Brian Thomas Jr.

Evan Engram (Draft Kings Price 4.8K, FanDuel Price 5.8K)

With Christian Kirk out, Engram is arguably behind Brian Thomas Jr. as a secondary receiving option in this Jaguars offense. Engram hasn’t had many big games other than his 102-yard game against Chicago, but if Lawrence plays, that means he would stand to get even more of the target share for Jaguar’s pass catchers. It may be a good idea to chase the volume here; not many other tight ends in the league are guaranteed to see that many passes.

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars Sit Em’

Dalton Shultz (Draft Kings Price 3.3 K, FanDuel Price 5.2K)

While he is certainly talented, Dalton Shultz simply doesn’t get enough volume to be a strong start in DFS. Even in the loss to Tennessee, C.J. Stroud’s main pass targets were Nico Collins, Tank Dell, and Joe Mixon. Shultz can definitely make a clutch catch or two here and there, but his numbers won’t compare to the big three for Houston.

Tank Bigsby (Draft Kings Price 5.6K, FanDuel Price 6.3K)

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Bigsby; he only rushed for 22 yards against Philadelphia and four yards against Minnesota. He missed the Lions game due to injury, but now that he is good to go he might share more carries with Etienne along with D’Ernest Johnson. That makes Bigsby a risk going into Week 13 since he would need one explosive play and/or touchdown to perform well.

Tank Dell (Draft Kings Price 5.9K, FanDuel Price 6.4K)

Tank Dell’s performance is unfortunately suffering because of what a strong connection C.J. Stroud has with Nico Collins. Dell is usually getting 50 to 70 yards in each game, which makes him a touchdown-dependent start. Speaking of touchdowns, Dell hasn’t scored one since the Jets game. Stroud will either be looking for Collins or handing the ball off to Mixon in the red zone.

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars Lock

Nico Collins (Draft Kings Price 7.9K, FanDuel Price 9.1K)

The last time Houston played Jacksonville, Collins put on a clinic: 151 yards and a touchdown. Given the fact that he is back and healthy, there is little reason to think he won’t do the same again in Week 13. Collins is guaranteed targets, but in particular, he is Stroud’s preferred long ball target, so he will break a couple of 20+ yards plays in this game.

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars Fade

Travis Etienne (Draft Kings Price 5.7K, FanDuel Price 6.6K)

Ettiene had an opportunity to shine once more when Bigsby was injured. Unfortunately, he had to do so against the Detroit Lions’ defense, and he could only muster 27 yards off of 12 carries. It’s hard to say if we will ever see the Etienne of old, but we almost certainly won’t see his old production in a matchup against the Texans where they will have to throw the ball often to keep up.
