San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Clippers DFS Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em|April 8, 2025

spurs

The upstart Spurs are eliminated from Play-in contention, but likely Rookie of the Year award winner, Stephon Castle, looks to continue his hot play heading as the Spurs look to spoil the Clippers playoff seeding in the playoffs with a matchup in the Intuit Dome on Tuesday night and I think have the potential to do that as they have been in close games recently. Meanwhile, for the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard is on the injury report, but the Clippers still have great DFS options! Speaking of DFS, here are my picks for this late-night matchup in the City of Angels!

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Chris Paul ($5,300 DraftKings, $5,400 FanDuel)

CP3 is one of those guys who can still get you 30 fantasy points in the late stage of his career, especially if he gets double-digit assists. Every time Paul gets an opportunity to play in LA as of late, he performs well, and I think Tuesday night is going to be another one of those performances for the veteran point guard. I think Paul is going to get at least 25 fantasy points in this matchup tonight.

Norman Powell ($6,500 DraftKings and FanDuel )

Norman Powell has been one of those exceptional two-guards this season, averaging 22 points per game along with 32.6 fantasy points throughout the season thus far. He’s been one of the most inconsistent Clippers these last couple of games, but I think he could bounce back in this game tonight against the Spurs. Look for Powell to have a productive night for the Clippers.

Spurs vs. Clippers DFS Sit ‘Ems

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Devin Vassell ($7,000 DraftKings and FanDuel)

Devin Vassell has been productive a lot of the time this season for the Spurs; however, in this tough matchup against the Clippers, I think Vassell could be the guy that struggles, because if Leonard plays in this game, his defense alone is going to shut down the former Florida State alum in this game this evening. Also, I think he could slump as he is coming off two very strong games with 44 and 38.3 fantasy performances in each of those games for the Spurs.

Kris Dunn ($3,900 DraftKings, $4,500 FanDuel )

Kris Dunn can get those productive nights at times, but the minutes have to be there for him, along with him being efficient. I just think that tonight, Dunn is going to be lacking in those opportunities unless the Clippers somehow blow out the Spurs at home. We’ll see if Dunn can contribute 15 fantasy points in this matchup. I’m betting he won’t hit that mark tonight.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Stephon Castle ($7,500 DraftKings and FanDuel)

Stephon Castle, in his last three games, has been putting on a show! He has had 49.3, 52.3, and 38.8 fantasy points in those games, respectively, including back-to-back, 22-point scoring performances against the Cavaliers and Trail Blazers.

Yes, the Clippers’ defense is one of the top defenses in the league at the moment, but I believe that Castle is going to continue his recent stretch of fantasy performances with his all-around game being at his peak currently, as he’s going to give the Spurs their second consecutive Rookie of the Year.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Keldon Johnson ($4,800 DraftKings, $5,200 FanDuel)

I think Keldon Johnson has struggled these last few games with 17.5 and 15.3 fantasy points, respectively. I don’t like him to bounce back against this Clippers defense that gives wings problems at times this season, with their playoff seeding on the line. Even though he’s fallen below $5,000 value on DraftKings, I wouldn’t take the chance personally on Johnson tonight for the bounce back.

Conclusion

As I previewed in the intro, the Spurs have the chance to pull off this upset against a Clippers team that needs this game to avoid the Play-In because of Castle’s play. However, I think James Harden and Powell will be too much for the young Spurs tonight, and I think that the Clippers will get the win in this game.
