It is never too early to grab sleeper fantasy players who fell through the cracks in drafts. It doesn’t matter what the reason is, whether they were underrated or too many players were ranked above them, or maybe an injury opened up a spot for them. Here is a breakdown of players at each position who are 50% or less of rosters, yet deserve a spot.
Sleeper Fantasy Players Worth a Look
- Catcher – Carson Kelly (Cubs). He is on 30% of rosters, but has four home runs, 13 RBIs, and has scored eight runs. He is currently the fourth most productive catcher.
- 1B – Wilmer Flores (Giants). He is on 42% of rosters, but has six home runs, 21 RBIs, and has scored 10 runs. He is currently the third most productive 1B.
- 2B – Brandon Lowe (Rays). He is on 20% of rosters, but has three home runs, 11 RBIs, and has scored six runs. He is on par with Maikel Garcia of the Royals.
- 3B – Zach McKinstry (Tigers). He is on 27% of rosters, but has one home run, eight RBIs, and has scored 10 runs. He is also eligible at SS and OF.
- SS – Jacob Wilson (A’s). He is on 36% of rosters, but has two home runs, eight RBIs, and has scored 11 runs. He has better numbers than Bobby Witt Jr.
Out Fielder
- OF – Pete Crow-Armstrong (Cubs). He is on 48% of rosters, but has two home runs, nine RBIs, and has scored 14 runs. He has better numbers than highly touted teammate Ian Happ.
- OF – Byron Buxton (Twins). He is on 16% of rosters, but has three home runs, eight RBIs, and has scored 14 runs. He has better numbers than Juan Soto.
- OF – Heliot Ramos (Giants). He is on 29% of rosters, but has three home runs, nine RBI,s and has scored 11 runs. He has better numbers than Jose Altuve.
Pitchers
- SP – Tyler Mahle (Rangers). He is on 17% of rosters, but has three wins and 21 strikeouts for the sixth-best numbers among starters.
- SP – Jeffrey Springs (A’s). He is on 19% of rosters, but has three wins and 20 strikeouts. His numbers are right below Tarik Skubal’s.
- SP – Clay Holmes (Mets). He is on 34% of rosters, but has two wins and 28 strikeouts. His numbers are better than Logan Gilbert’s.
- RP – Kyle Finnegan (Nationals). He is on 34% of rosters, but has six saves and eight strikeouts. He has the third-best numbers among closers.
Will these sleeper players be able to keep up this pace? That is always the question, but many of them are young, so they are worth taking a shot on. If you have a roster spot or have a veteran who looks like he is done, it can’t hurt to take a flyer on one of these players for MLB Fantasy redraft.
