Sergei Bobrovsky is a Stanley Cup Champion Goaltender after winning the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers this past season. Bobrovsky is a two-time Venezia Trophy winner in 2012-2013 and the 2016-17 seasons.

He has played for the Philadelphia Flyers in 2010-2011, and 2011-2012. Then went to play for the Columbus Blue Jackets from 2012-2019. Now he plays for the Florida Panthers and has since 2019. Sergei Bobrovsky is the winningest Russian Born goalie in NHL history passing Evgeni Nabokov. 

Sergei Bobrovsky NHL Career So Far

Sergei Bobrovsky played for the Philadelphia Flyers in 2010 and made his first start against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Bobrovsky had a successful rookie season, posting a 28–13–8 record along with a .915 save percentage. In 2012, Bobrovsky was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets where in his first season with the Blue Jackets he won his first Venezia Trophy with 21 wins, and career bests of a 2.00 goal against average (GAA) and a .932 save percentage.

With this performance, he was awarded the awarded to the league’s top goaltender during the regular season. On 1 July 2013, Bobrovsky signed a two-year, $11.25 million contract extension with the Blue Jackets. On 1 July 2019, Bobrovsky signed a seven-year, $70 million contract with the Florida Panthers. He had some struggling season with the Panthers he posted 23–16–9 through 50 games in the 2019–20 regular season before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bobrovsky would continue to struggle for a couple of seasons until head Coach Paul Maurice took over for the Florida Panthers in 2022. Bobrovsky was a Venezia Finalist this past season and won the Stanley Cup. He will now be considered a Hall of Fame Goalie after having success in Florida the last few seasons.

Sergei Bobrovsky Fantasy Outlook

In 2023, Sergei Bobrovsky played 58 games, 2.37 goals against average, 1,448 saves, and 0.915 save percentage. He had 36 wins and 17 losses, infamous for his saves. He averaged 6.2 fantasy points per game. He is ranked 11th in the league for goaltenders, 86% rostered and 77% starting. Bobrovsky will give a fantasy team wins in the goaltending categories of saves, wins, shutouts, and goals against.

Sergei Bobrovsky will be a good pick-up in the fourth round of any NHL fantasy league. This is the 37th-38th pick in the draft. He is a top-10 goaltender in any NHL fantasy league for daily fantasy and redraft.

Bobrovsky has also broken franchise records with the Florida Panthers as a top goaltender in the NHL. He will look to have another dominant season this year for fantasy hockey, as the Panthers start the season in October.
