The Seattle Sounders beat the Tennessee-based team like they were a USL team. So what can we draw from this game that’ll help us out in fantasy? Well, after going through the stats and seeing what fans had to say, that’s what I found out, so let’s go!
Is Jesús Ferreira finally back?
One of the disappointing Sounders initially, Jesús Ferreira, had one of the best games on the team as of late. While he didn’t put a ball into the back of the net, he helped two different Seattle Sounders do exactly that in what is his performance of the season. An 8.2 match rating and by far the most DraftKings points he had all season, assisting two of the Sounders’ three goals. While some had worries about the price and his injuries, it looks like those aren’t weighing them down anymore.
Is the Defense Better with Kim Kee-Hee?
The returning Seattle Sounder made a lot of headlines when they announced his signing; injuries then delayed his return. The Nashville game was his first start, and the Sounders’ defense as a whole hasn’t scored as many DraftKings points as a collective all season. Of course, he wasn’t the only reason, but if his first start back in the Rave Green goes this well, it’s something to look out for.
Quality Midfield = Quality Sounders
Earlier in the season, the Sounders’ midfield struggled hard, and the Sounders dropped less than 7.0 every week in a system as possession-based and playing in the midfield as Seattle’s. Quite a bad thing, but now the Sounders look like they are improving along with it.
In our 1-0 win over FC Dallas, it was our 1st game with 3+ midfielders with over a 7.0 rating, and in this win against Nashville, it was our 1st game with three midfielders with over an 8.0 rating. With guys like Cristian Roldan gaining back his best form.
Pedro De La Vega is the heart of the Sounders’ Offense
The Sounders’ most expensive signing has gotten off to a tough start in the Emerald City this season, which has been his coming-out party. Continuing his promising pre-season form, he has earned the most points out of any Sounders attacker so far on DraftKings this season.
Nashville is on the Sounders’ level?
Right now, Nashville SC is 6th in the MLS Eastern Conference standings with a 4-1-4 record. The Sounders right now have a 3-3-3 record, which is very comparable to Nashville’s. With the squad healthy, we’re capable of dominating teams like this. As for teams above their tier, we’ll wait and see.
The last thing worth mentioning is that I guess we didn’t need Rashford after all. Thanks a bunch for reading, and best of luck with your future fantasy picks!
