Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons DFS Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em| October 20, 2024

The Seattle Seahawks travel to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to take on the Atlanta Falcons in what should be an excellent matchup. These teams, on paper, could not be more similar. Their defenses allow 335 total yards and 339 total yards per game. Both offenses average 373 total yards and 368 total yards per game. The Seahawks average 20 more passing yards, but the Falcons average 20 more rushing yards per game. Which teams are trending in the right direction through six weeks?

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Atlanta Falcons WR Drake London ($6.9K DraftKings and $7.5K Fanduel)

Drake London has been on fire this year. He is the WR5 and has scored 12 or more points in the past five games, including a 33-point outburst against the Buccaneers two weeks ago. Drake London has shown teams he is a red zone threat, hauling in four touchdowns in the last five games. If you watch the games, you will see that he has very strong hands and brings in tough balls. The Seahawks have a top-10 pass defense, but London still has his way.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III ($7.3K DraftKings and $7.5K Fanduel)

Kenneth Walker when healthy may be the most underrated running back in the league. Walker has only played in four games this season, but when active he is averaging 22 fantasy points per game which ranks him as the RB3, Walker has missed two games and is still the RB11. The Falcons have a bad run defense, start Walker.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons DFS Sit ‘Ems

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith ($5.8KDraftKings and $7.6K Fanduel)

Geno Smith has been good this season and currently ranks as the QB7. The Seahawks have lost three straight and though Smith may have the yards to back him up, his touchdown to interception ratio is four touchdowns to five interceptions in the last four games. Geno may be slinging the ball, but he is not efficient in the redzone, sit Geno.

Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($5.9K DraftKings and $6.1K Fanduel)

JSN has had a very mediocre start to the season and currently ranks as the WR25. JSN is a great young player, but there are so many mouths to feed on that offense. JSN is behind Metcalf and Lockett on the WR depth chart Noah Fant expects targets as well as Kenneth Walker catching seven passes in his last two games. JSN is a great player, but he is not the star on the Seahawks’ offense.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson ($7.1KDraftKings and $8.2K Fanduel)

Bijan Robinson is having himself a year and currently ranks as the RB7. Last week against the lackluster Panthers defense Bijan had 105 total yards, found the endzone twice, and a monster 25.5 fantasy points. The Seahawks have one of the worst run defenses in the league, expect Bijan to eat.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Seattle Seahawks Defense ($2.6K DraftKings and $4.2K Fanduel)

Seattle’s Defense ranks in the bottom half of the league and are very susceptible to the run game. Not to say Seattle has a bad defense, but with the way the Falcons have been scoring lately the Seattle defense will not be able to keep up. Atlanta has scored 36 and 38 in their last two matchups and the Seahawks have allowed 36, 29, and 42 in their last three matchups. Sit the Hawks defense.

Conclusion

These teams are very similar on paper, but they are moving in very different directions. Seattle has lost three straight while Atlanta has won three straight. If this game were in Seattle the outcome may be different, but the Falcons are playing at home. Drake London and Bijan Robinson are coming off big weeks and look to extend their hot streak. Kenneth Walker is playing against a poor run defense and should have another good game. This game should still be close, but Atlanta comes out on top.
