Sam Reinhart became a Florida Panther on August 11, 2021, from the Buffalo Sabers. He signed a 3-year contract initially coming to Florida. The Panthers gave the Sabres a 2022 draft pick and goalie prospect Devon Levi.  Sam Reinhart has excelled in Florida. His career has taken off since coming to the Sunshine State. The Florida Panthers have won their first Stanley Cup this past season and are looking to continue making history and winning more championships with Reinhart leading the way. 

Sam Reinhart, is now a superstar in Florida, he is coming off the 2023-2024 season winning the Stanley Cup. Reinhart also is coming off the best career season with the most goals of any Panther all time passing Pavel Bure. Reinhart finished the regular season with 57 goals, 37 assists, and 94 points. He ranks 2nd in goals right behind Toronto Maple Leaf Forward Austin Matthews.  Sam Reinhart also scored 10 goals, 6 assists, and 16 points in the postseason. He scored the game winning goal for the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. 

The Florida Panthers signed Sam Reinhart to a eight-year 69$ million dollar contract. This also means other star forward Captain Alexsander Barkov, and Assistant Captain Matthew Tkachuk are all under contract for the Panthers. General Manager, Bill Zito has built a championship caliber team in Florida and hopes to continue the momentum in years to come.

Sam Reinhart was the 2nd leading goal scorer in the NHL last season behind Toronto Maple Leaf Forward Austin Matthews. Reinhart has come a long way since being drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 2014. He played for the Sabres for seven seasons 2014-2021. His best goal-scoring season in Buffalo was in the 2017-18 season where he scored 25 goals. Since being traded to the Panthers he has had three-plus seasons with 25 goals or more and this season ending with 57 goals. 

According to ESPN Fantasy, Sam Reinhart ranks number 14 in the ESPN top 300 fantasy hockey ranks. Reinhart would be a great fourth-round pick in the fantasy hockey draft in any standard league this upcoming hockey season. If Sam Reinhart is in reach in the 3rd or 4th rounds of the fantasy draft this season. He’s a top goal scorer and gets points on the power play. 

Since Reinhart’s career has taken off in Florida and the Panthers winning the Stanley Cup his fantasy value has increased tremendously into this season. He ranked by Yahoo! Sports RW 79th and by Fantasy Pros RW 83rd ranked. 

Final Thoughts 

Sam Reinhart was dominant for the Florida Panthers. He was the leading goal scorer and the leading goal scorer on the Power Play. He had 27 powerplay goals and 34 Power-Play points. He was automatic when he played in the slot for the Florida Panthers on the Power Play. 

Reinhart is expected this season to be great for the Panthers. Coach Paul Maurice speaks highly of him and his teammates respect him and love the way he plays hockey. Florida Panthers goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky said  “He is awesome, He can score from any position. He’s smart. He’s not only scoring goals but he’s a key player on the penalty kill as well and in the defensive zone. It’s so much fun to see him have that success.”

The Florida Panthers have made the Stanley Cup Finals in back-to-back years losing to the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023 but came back and won the 2nd time around in 2024 beating the Edmonton Oilers. The Panthers are looking ahead to this season defending their title.
