An old-fashioned rivalry that dates back as long as time itself. The New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons hate each other, and with both teams looking promising this should be a great bout. The Saints come into this game 2-1 coming off a close loss to the Eagles in week three, and the Atlanta Falcons come into this matchup 1-2 with all three of their games this season being within one score.
New Orleans Saints vs Atlanta Falcons DFS Start ‘Ems
Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.
Bijan Robinson ($7.4K DraftKings and $8.3K Fanduel)
Bijan Robinson is averaging just under 20 touches a game. Last Sunday the Eagles put up 460 total yards against the Saints, 288 passing and 172 rushing. With Bijan being both an air and rushing threat look for the Falcons to use Bijan Robinson against the Saints heavily.
Darnell Mooney ($4.4K DraftKings and $5.7K Fanduel)
Darnell Mooney has been Captain Kirk’s go-to man in the last two games. Against the Eagles and Chiefs, Mooney has seen 15 targets and went 8/8 last week against the Chiefs. Mooney is averaging just over 16 fantasy points in the last two weeks. The success Kirk has found with Mooney should carry on this week.
Blake Grupe
It is crazy to have a kicker as a “start ’em”, but Blake Grupe is currently the K5 and has 35 fantasy points on the season. The Atlanta Falcons are stingy in the red zone and have only allowed four touchdowns all season. On the other hand, the Falcons have allowed 11 field goals this season. He is not available on DraftKings or FanDuel but take his over on points.
New Orleans Saints vs Atlanta Falcons DFS Sit ‘Ems
On the flip side, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.
Derek Carr ($5.9K DraftKings and $7.6KFanduel)
Derek Carr was QB1 going into week three, but his success was limited after playing a tough Eagles defense. Derek Carr only scored 10.4 fantasy points last week throwing for 142 yards and a pick and interception. Carr has looked good this season, but he played the Panthers and the Cowboys who have not shown they are as solid as people think. Atlanta signed veterans this offseason and bolstered their defense, sit Carr.
Rashid Shaheed ($5.5K DraftKings and $6.1K Fanduel)
Rashid Shaheed is in the same boat as Derek Carr. Shaheed played very well in the first two weeks averaging just over 18 fantasy points per game, but when playing a tough defense he did not see the ball all game. With Atlanta having a stellar defense, especially in the secondary Shaheed may have limited touches. Olave is WR1, but no team has thrown over 217 yards against Atlanta, sit Shaheed.
Lock of the Game
Alvin Kamara ($7.6K DraftKings and $8.6K Fanduel)
The Atlanta Falcons have given up over 125 rushing yards in all three games this season. Alvin Kamara is currently the RB2 just behind Saquon Barkley, and after the game he may be the RB1. Alvin Kamara has 81.7 fantasy points on the season and averages just over 27 points per game. This is not a guaranteed Kamara will score 27 but look for him to have a good game.
Total Apex Fade of the Game
Jamaal Williams ($4.4K DraftKings and $5K Fanduel)
Jamaal Williams has seen a decrease in his production as the season has gone on. Week 1 Williams looked like he was going to be a rotational piece for the Saints, but in the last two weeks, he only has nine carries, and only a single carry last week. Against the Cowboys and Eagles Williams only racked up 38 yards, and with Alvin Kamara tearing through defenses look to sit Jamaal Williams this week.
Conclusion
Atlanta has had a tough start to their season playing two powerhouses, and though they are 1-2 they have shown they are competitors. The Saints have had a great start to their season, but when playing a top defense the offense stalled out and only scored 12 points. Atlanta has proven to have a good defense, but Alvin Kamara has proved he won’t be stopped. This should be another great addition to the rivalry
