Rockies vs Marlins DFS Start/Sit 8/27/24

dfs

Interesting matchup for two last-place teams, DFS matchups could be fruitful for each team. Injuries may play a factor with Rockies OF Brenton Doyle and IF Ezequiel Tovar both DTD. Value adds for DFS players are the highlight here for both Rockies and Marlins players.

Rockies vs Marlins Fantasy DFS Starts

Jonah Bride, 1B/3B, Miami Marlins

He’s been pretty solid since taking over more for the Marlins at first, Bride over the last couple of months. With a .299 batting average against righties, Bride can drive in some runs in Colorado and have a good game. It’s a good value pick.

Jake Cave, OF, Colorado Rockies

Cave went 2 for 4 last night and has been hitting righties at a .281 clip and cracked all of his home runs against righties too. Munoz will be vulnerable here in Colorado, and with possible injury scratches to Tovar and Doyle, Cave should get plenty of opportunity to take advantage.

Jesus Sanchez, OF, Miami Marlins

Sanchez went 2 for 4 last night and drove in a couple of runs, but looks poised for an HR tonight.  Sanchez does his best work against righties and seems to be a streaky player.  If Doyle is not in the center, he’ll have a little more room in the outfield to play with since he has good gap power. Good value at $4200 today.

Rockies vs Marlins DFS Fantasy Sits

Brenton Doyle, OF, Colorado Rockies

Doyle may be one of the best players for the Rockies and in line for a 20/20 year, but could be another late scratch.  If you plan on starting him watch closely to make sure you aren’t caught with your pants down. If Doyle is healthy it will still be a coin toss, especially at $6,000 today.

Jake Burger, 1B/3B, Miami Marlins

Burger seems to be in a bit of a slump outside of his game against Arizona last week he homered. Last night was encouraging to see he’s watching the ball better with a couple of walks, but until he starts hitting more consistently, he’s still a sit.

Charlie Blackmon, OF, Colorado Rockies

Blackmon will get this start most likely in RF today, but he has not done much for anyone to depend on him.  He’s also 1 for 8 this year against the Marlins pitching staff and clearly is not the player he used to be.

Rockies vs. Marlins Pitching Matchup

Cal Quantrill, Colorado Rockies

Everything screams average for Quantrill, however, he has put up some games with over 12 points in the last couple of outings, and Miami isn’t exactly a powerhouse. He is a decent value play and could fill in nicely as a second pitcher for the night.

Roddery Munoz, Florida Marlins

Munoz is frustrating as a fantasy play. On one hand, he’s had 10 appearances under 10 points, but two over 20 points. If you are out of money and want to take a chance, Munoz could be your guy. Just don’t count on it.
