This is a way to get Chad Gable on the Wrestlemania card in a unique way and the story makes sense for El Americano Grande to win. Whether it be by shenanigans or a clean victory, there is no need for Rey Mysterio to pick up a win here. This is also being written after the go-home edition of WWE Smackdown where Mysterio appeared to suffer a leg injury during his match where he teamed with Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix against American Made. He was helped to the back and the trainers did not allow him to walk to the back, instead carrying him and leaving some concern about if this match will happen.
Even if they play into the injury and Mysterio is cleared to go, there is no need for him to win this match as it does nothing to elevate him. El Americano Grande has shown the ability to be an interesting gimmick who has been piucking up wins as he is undefeated since \”debuting\” in the company. With wins over Dragon Lee on the March 24th episode of WWE Monday Night RAW and a six-man tag team match win on the April 7th episode of RAW, this would just continue to elevate him into a position where he can compete for a championship down the line.
There is also a chance that if this match were to happen, El Americano Grande would be unmasked. If that happens, expect to see Gable grab the mask and essentially try to cover his face like a luchador.
