The Los Angeles Rams are coming off a strong performance in Arizona against the Vikings in the NFC Wild Card after the devastation of the wildfires in California. Meanwhile, the Eagles are coming off a strong defensive performance in a 22-10 win over the Green Bay Packers last Sunday afternoon. The Eagles have the advantage in this game because of the weather and the Rams are coming off a short week. Let’s go ahead and look at the picks for this game’s DFS slate.
Rams vs. Eagles DFS Start ‘Ems
Here are a few of the players we are heavily leaning on in this game. They are in a good position to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.
Eagles Defense ($3,400 Draft Kings, $4,700 FanDuel)
This Eagles’ defense is the best in the league for a reason, and that reason is that they don’t allow the big play. That combined with the weather and the philosophy that both teams could potentially be playing with in this game plays right into this Eagles defense’s hands. Yes, I know that Nakobe Dean is out but Zack Baun with the potential surge of Jeremiah Trotter Jr will be just enough to handle the Rams run game in this weather.
I repeat HAMMER the Eagles’ defense in all of your DFS lineups this weekend. Also look for Quinyon Mitchell, Darius Slay, and Cooper Dejean to have great coverage on the duo of Kupp and Nacua.
Rams vs. Eagles DFS Sit ‘Ems
On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.
Jalen Hurts ($6,800 Draft Kings, $8,200 FanDuel )
The snow is the main reason I’m sitting Hurts. Eagles fans remember what happened in the last snow game. That was the Shady “Snow Game” and I think Sirianni will make this game a Saquon game once again. Ironically enough the opponent the Eagles are playing this weekend is the team the Saquon broke Shady’s snow game record for single-game Eagles rushing yards record on in Week 12.
I think Hurts is still going to be efficient and might get some Brotherly Shove touchdowns if presented but I think he’ll have maybe around 18 fantasy points this weekend. I also think he’ll have more yards than last week but not by much meaning sit him in the DFS lineups.
Total Apex Lock of the Game
Saquon Barkley ($8,200 Draft Kings, $9,300 FanDuel)
Saquon should have a big game once again as I was talking about in the Hurts segment of this article. Barkley had 255 rushing yards and 302 total yards from scrimmage in that Week 12 matchup between these two teams. Now I don’t think that Barkley is going to have those types of numbers again but he’ll have a huge day with probably at least 120 rushing and 2 rushing touchdowns in the snow.
Total Apex Fade of the Game
Matthew Stafford ($5,200 Draft Kings, $7,300 FanDuel)
Stafford in the snow and rain over his career has been a subpar quarterback at best. Stafford’s numbers in the cold weather are 54.6 completion percentage, 14 Touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a 76.0 rating. Plus the last time that Stafford played in a snow game in Philly was that December 8, 2013 game that I referenced earlier and he was 10-25 for 150 yards and no touchdowns in that game.
Those stats and the Rams being that warm-weather team playing in Southern California are not a good combination this week in the snow for Stafford’s DFS chances.
Conclusion
The Eagles should handle their business in this difficult weather at home this weekend against a game Rams team. I love Barkley to have a huge amount of fantasy points against the Rams in the DFS and I look for the Eagles’ Defense to have a similar impact that they did in the Packers game last week.
