The Vegas Raiders return from their bye week this week to travel to warm Miami to take on the Dolphins. Antonio Pierce earlier this week announced that Gardner Minshew will be the starter again for Vegas. Meanwhile, Miami is coming off a huge win over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football last week. Both teams, especially the Dolphins, are searching for a win this week in Miami to potentially stay alive in the playoff race. Here’s the DFS slate I’m thinking of for this matchup.
Las Vegas Raiders vs. Miami Dolphins DFS Start ‘Ems
Here are a few of the players we are heavily leaning on in this game. These players are in a good spot to have a solid performance and a favorable matchup.
Tyreek Hill ($7,400 DraftKings, $8,500 FanDuel)
It’s the Cheetah, you should start him regardless of how he’s performed this season thus far. Hill has been underwhelming because of the wrist injury and lack of consistent quarterback play but Hill finally has Tua back. Hill found the end zone again last week for the first time since Week 1 and the arrest celebration he did. Hill is sure to break away from his 11.4 fantasy points per game average on DraftKings eventually right? Look for Hill to explode this weekend.
De’Von Achane ($7,200 DraftKings, $8,700 FanDuel)
De’Von Achane has been explosive when Tua has been in the lineup, having over 26 fantasy points in weeks 8 and 9. Achane only had 10.2 fantasy points last weekend, but the bright side for starting him this week if you so desire is the Raiders’ 27th-ranked run defense. Yes, that Raiders swiss-cheese run defense. Achane is going to go OFF this week!
Las Vegas Raiders vs. Miami Dolphins DFS Sit ‘Ems
On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.
Jakobi Meyers ($5,600 Draft Kings, $6,200 FanDuel)
Miami is coming off of holding Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua to low numbers on Monday, and their 8th-ranked pass defense against wideouts will create problems for the Raiders receivers, especially Meyers. Meyers is mostly going to be matched up against Jalen Ramsey this weekend, yeah sit Meyers.
Alexander Mattison ($5,500 DraftKings, $5,700 FanDuel)
Mattison and the Raiders running back room has been BELOW AVERAGE this season, to say the least, and even though Miami has the 20th-ranked run defense in the league, Mattison is only averaging 10.8 fantasy points per game and the line of Vegas isn’t going take advantage of the weakness of the run defense of Miami.
Total Apex Lock of the Game
Brock Bowers ($5,800 DraftKings, $7,200 FanDuel)
Brock Bowers has been one of the BEST rookies this season regardless of position and has averaged 14.2 fantasy points per game on Draft Kings. Yes, Miami has the 10th toughest defense against tight ends but Bowers’s talent at the position is too much to pass up making him a strong lock for this game in your DFS lineups.
Total Apex Fade of the Game
Raiders Defense ($2,400 DraftKings, $3,000 FanDuel)
The Dolphins’ rushing attack alone will make people weary of the Raiders’ defense alone in DFS lineups, but the fact of the matter is the passing attack of the Miami Dolphins can present some problems for the Raiders like the Bengals game a few weeks ago. The speed of Hill and Waddle will create havoc for the Vegas secondary.
Conclusion
The Dolphins are favored to win this game and should win this game if they use the run game effectively against a BAD run defense. The Raiders are rebuilding right now and Bowers is a great start to that rebuild and will make you some money this week on DFS lineups but the Raiders are trying to get in position for one of these quarterbacks in the 2025 draft.
