Quinyon Mitchell is one of those cornerbacks who shuts down his side of the field, as he proved in 2024 for the Philadelphia Eagles. As the Eagles’ first-round pick in 2024, Mitchell provided a huge spark to a secondary that needed a shut-down corner really bad on the opposite side of Darius Slay on the outside. Mitchell and second-round pick Cooper Dejean changed the Eagles’ defense, which finished one of the worst against the pass in 2023, to the No. 1 Pass Defense and the 2nd Overall Defense. 2025 should be an even better year for Mitchell as a Sophomore.
Quinyon Mitchell 2024 Production
Mitchell had a strong regular season for a Rookie corner, with 42 solo tackles, 9 PBUs, zero interceptions, and 41 receptions allowed. He had several opportunities at picks during the regular season that CJ Gardner Johnson picked instead of him. Mitchell’s regular season earned him a PFF grade of 72.4, with 81.0 Fantasy Points, but he was even better in the Postseason for Philadelphia. Fantasy Pros had his stats a little bit differently from PFF. He had 37 tackles, 12 PBUs according to them.
In the Postseason for the Eagles last season, he had two interceptions, 12 solo tackles, only eight receptions allowed, and one pass breakup. Those stats equated to a PFF grade of 83.1, which was the 3rd-best grade of all corners in the 2024 Playoffs. That’s some elite stuff from Quinyonomo Bay. 2025 should be another electric season for him and potentially even better for IDP fantasy purposes.
Quinyon Mitchell 2025 Projections
Mitchell’s projections for 2025 are interesting to look at, for example, if you look at the Fantasy Pros rankings for the former Toledo Rockets corner. They have him at the 81st spot in their DB Dynasty Rankings, while ESPN’s Mike Clay has him at his 59th spot for defensive back rankings in Fantasy. Clay has the following projections for him in 2025: 1023 snaps, 61 tackles, 2.3 interceptions, and one TFL for a total FFPTs projection of 118.5. I think Mitchell can get more points, especially if he increases his interception volume from Clay’s 2.3 projection to what I think he can get. I think he can grab three or four interceptions in 2025.
Final Thoughts
Mitchell is probably a depth piece in IDP in 2025 because of the possible lack of opportunity due to his great coverage skills, so that quarterbacks won’t test him. But if they do decide to test him in 2025, I think he is going to have a great rise in terms of interceptions, as you saw in the 2024 postseason from Quyinonamo Bay with his two interceptions in the four games. Looking forward to seeing what he does in 2025. Total Apex Fantasy and Bets will have plenty of IDPs Outlooks as well as Redraft and Dynasty Outlooks throughout the Offseason.
