We are officially in Week 3 of the 2024 season after a crazy Week 2 where we saw a lot of surprising results in the NFL overall. The Quarterback position on DFS has been similar in craziness throughout the first 2 games thus far. In Week 3, we got some great matchups including Ravens vs. Cowboys, Eagles vs. Saints, Chiefs vs. Falcons, etc. Let’s start with this week’s starts.
Quarterback Must Starts for Week 3
Derek Carr ($5,800 Draft Kings, $7,900 FanDuel)
Derek Carr is the hottest quarterback in the NFL over these first 2 weeks of the young season, and this week he plays a Philadelphia Eagles team that can’t generate a pass rush in the first 2 weeks. This is a must start especially with the Draft Kings’ budget play of $5,800. Carr already has 5 touchdown passes on the young season. Look for Carr to continue his success on Sunday against Philly.
Jalen Hurts ($7,300 Draft Kings, $8,500 FanDuel)
Jalen Hurts wasn’t the issue for the Eagles in that Monday night loss even with the late interception he had over 24 fantasy points on FanDuel. Hurts finally showed that he has his legs again against Atlanta having 85 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground along with a touchdown pass to Devonta Smith. Hurts will have some success against New Orleans even without superstar wideout AJ Brown.
Kyler Murray ($6,900 DraftKings, $8,300 FanDuel)
Kyler Murray is coming off a huge performance against the Rams at home, where he had over 28 fantasy points on both platforms last week and he faces a Detroit team coming off a tough loss to Tampa Bay where they let Baker Mayfield drop 19.8 fantasy points on them. Kyler Murray should still find his connection with Marvin Harrison Jr this week as Detroit Secondary is still unproven.
Quarterback Must Sits for Week 3

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the quarterbacks we are sitting in Week 3.
Anthony Richardson ($6,700 DraftKings, $8,000 FanDuel)
Anthony Richardson is the first sit for this week because the Chicago Bears have one of the top 8 passing defenses in terms of QB fantasy production and he struggled against the Packers last week. Richardson is a great runner of the football but is still unproven as a passer in this league and Matt Eberflus is going to make him throw the ball a lot in this game this week.
Daniel Jones ($5,300 DraftKings, $6,800 FanDuel)
Daniel Jones had a productive day against the Washington Defense for his standards with 178 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, but this week he’s going up against Cleveland and Myles Garrett. This is a sit that needs to be laid out there because of the possible hyperbole on his performance from last week.
Will Levis ($5,200 DraftKings, $6,800 FanDuel)
Will Levis is my final sit and is also my Fade of the Week even though Green Bay is leaning as a favorable matchup. Levis is the Fade of the Week because his bonehead decision-making in crucial situations in each of the first two weeks has arguably cost his team both games easily and will cost you money if you decide to save money at the quarterback position to go with more skill position in your DFS lineups.
Lock of Week 3
Derek Carr ($5,800 Draft Kings, $7,900 FanDuel)
Derek Carr is the hottest quarterback in the NFL over these first two weeks of the young season, and this week he plays a Philadelphia Eagles team that can’t generate a pass rush in the first two weeks. This is a must start especially with the Draft Kings’ budget play of $5,800. Carr already has 5 touchdown passes on the young season. Look for Carr to continue his success on Sunday against Philly.
Fade of Week 3
Will Levis ($5,200 DraftKings, $6,800 FanDuel)
Will Levis is my final sit and is also my Fade of the Week even though Green Bay is leaning as a favorable matchup. Levis is the Fade of the Week because his bonehead decision-making in crucial situations in each of the first 2 weeks has arguably cost his team both games easily and will cost you money if you decide to save money at the quarterback position to go with more skill positions in your DFS lineups.
Sleeper of Week 3
Kirk Cousins ($5,900 DraftKings, $7,200 FanDuel)
Kirk Cousins is carrying some momentum after a huge win on MNF against the Eagles in unlikely circumstances into a matchup against Kansas City in Week 3, as the Chiefs have been giving up huge games to the quarterback position this season thus far. Cousins’ values on both platforms as well make him the perfect sleeper option in terms of budget options at the quarterback position.
Conclusion
These picks for Week 3 are going to work to most people’s advantage especially if you have either quarterback in the Eagles vs Saints game in your DFS lineup this week, slightly leaning in Carr’s favor because of how hot the Saints team has been as a whole through the first two games.
