Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks DFS Start Em’ Sit Em| April 24th, 2025

NBA DFS Cade Cunningham pistons

One of the tightest series in the NBA right now is that between the Detroit Pistons and the New York Knicks. Each team with a game apiece, and both teams are fighting tooth and nail to end the fourth quarter with a lead. This is great news for DFS players who can invest in some of the ballers they will see in Game 3. A high-scoring affair is almost guaranteed here, and several players on each team are poised to have big games.

Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks Start Em’

Karl Anthony-Towns (Draft Kings Price 8.8K, FanDuel Price 9.5K)

By all accounts, Anthony-Towns disappointed in Game 2. He wasn’t brought from Minnesota to New York so he could score 10 points in a playoff game. Detroit did apply some heavy defense on Anthony-Towns in his defense, though. Coming out of Game 2, the Pistons might try harder to stop Brunson, and Anthony-Towns should be a kickout option for the point guard. It’s highly unlikely Anthony-Towns has two bad games in a row.

Cade Cunningham (DraftKings Price 9.4K, FanDuel Price 9.7K)

If any NBA fans were wondering why Cade Cunningham was an All-Star reserve, Game 2 showed exactly why. Cunningham had 33 points while shooting 10-12 from the field. He is a very dynamic player who can be creative in the lane and, when necessary, shoot the long ball. It doesn’t look like New York’s defense can stop Cunningham, but it’s doubtful any defense can.

Tobias Harris (DraftKings Price 6.1K, FanDuel Price 6.6K)

If there was any second fiddle to Cunningham in Game 2, it was Tobias Harris. Albeit 15 points don’t look all too attractive after the fact, Harris did a lot of things on both sides of the ball to help out Detroit. Harris often finds himself at the right place at the right time, and while he was only 1-4 from three-point range, he did sink one where he got wide open. Harris should be aiming for 20+ points in Game 3.

Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks Sit Em’

OG Anunoby (Draft Kings Price 6.6K, FanDuel Price 6.8K)

In Game 2, it seemed like it was much more difficult for OG Anunoby to get his shot off. Detroit was defending him pretty closely, though. They clearly don’t want Anunoby to drop another 23 like he did in Game 1. Therefore, it’s hard to recommend Anunoby if Detroit is going to lock him down that way.

If New York goes down in points, it’s clear that Brunson just takes the ball himself and tries to win solo. That isn’t even a bad strategy, considering how good Brunson is, but it’s bad for Anunoby’s prospects.

Mikal Bridges (DraftKings Price 5.4K, FanDuel Price 6K)

Bridges was the second-best scorer in Game 2, following Brunson’s amazing 37-point performance. Many of his points came off kickouts from Brunson, however. This means it’s difficult to say that he’s going to have a similar game, especially when Brunson might try feeding Josh Hart more in Game 3. Getting 19 points out of Bridges was great news for New York, no doubt, but it wasn’t like he was creating his own shot.

Tim Hardaway Jr. (DraftKings and Fanduel Price 3.8K)

Despite playing 21 minutes, Hardaway Jr. didn’t score at all in Game 2 of this series. He may struggle again in Game 3, but it has nothing to do with his talent. It’s very difficult for Hardaway Jr. to get the ball. Cade Cunningham is often shooting himself, and Hardaway Jr. doesn’t get that much playing time because Detroit wants to get Schroder minutes. Shrouder dropped 20 points in Game 2, so rest assured, he will get more minutes in this next game at the cost of opportunities for Tim Hardaway Jr.

Jalen Brunson (DraftKings and Fanduel Price 8.6K)

Win or lose, Jalen Brunson will walk away from every game in this series with tons of points. Detroit, like every other team in the league, is simply incapable of guarding Brunson. He is too quick, has too many moves, and if you take away his lane to the basket, he simply sinks a three-pointer. Detroit tied this series up in part because Brunson couldn’t hit a contested three in the 4th quarter. He might not miss again if they get into a similar situation.

Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks Fade

Malik Beasley (DraftKings Price 5.1, FanDuel Price 5.3K)

Unfortunately, today’s NBA is mostly dictated by the three-pointer, and players who can’t shoot well from a distance don’t have a good time. Malik Beasley learned this firsthand, seeing as he was 1-8 from three-point range in Game 2. It’s doubtful that Beasley will turn things around in one game. He can have a better performance in Game 3, but not enough for a DFS start.
